Recently, I posted that a Medal of Honor beta is coming soon. At E32010, Electronic Arts showed off gameplay footage of Medal of Honor multiplayer, and let me tell you, it will give Modern Warfare a run for its money. Activision has gotten its true competitor in EA, because if these trailers don’t impress you from the furious and frantic action its providing, then I don’t know what it does. I have seen reactions from the community, they call it a Battlefield: Bad Company 2 in a fresh new coat of paint – with little tweaks to the gameplay such as smoother framerate, and faster animation resulting in an Arcade feel. Enjoy:
If that’s not enough…
After watching these trailers, I am going to call this right now. That unless Activision does something about it – the Modern Warfare franchise is officially; dead. There’s a new sheriff in town and he’s going to start crushing bones.
Lets hope the game plays as good as it looks, or even better than either COD4, or MW2.
Kid Icarus was a Nintendo 8-Bit platformer that has been a beloved game, and a nostalgic one at that. It was a game that had the traits of Metroid through map design and gameplay. The inclusion of Pit, the main protagonist of Kid Icarus in Super Smash Bros. Brawl reminded gamers and even hinted at Nintendo paying attention to the reception of Pit. Ever since Brawl, there has been leaks and speculation that a new Kid Icarus game was in development – It happened:
Donkey Kong Country is a classic platformer that was released for Super Nintendo, it spanned two sequels, and a 3D spin-off. Now, the series makes a triumphant return to its roots. And that’s not all, it is taking a trending 2D/3D approach to a reboot of a series, while adding new gameplay mechanics. At E32010, the game was announced at the Nintendo Conference and a trailer has been released:
Sony has been indicating for quite some time that they want to launch a premium membership service – in fact, they have conducted a survey about reactions and behaviors towards such a subscription service. It appears that they have been satisfied with the responses, and have resulted in an announcement at this year’s E3. At first, the features, and details were scarce – they’ve remedied this by releasing a trailer that you can see below:
– Full Game Trial service: Download and play full trial games – you will try out a uncensored, unrestricted game for a set about of time. Once that time is up, you can decide to buy the actual game. This is seen as a game rental service. Don’t go canceling your GameFly account just yet, boys and girls because this is still on the PSN platform, and not retail games.
– Free-Game-If-You-Subscribe: This service is actually tied to your PSPlus account – the longer you keep your account active, and that means paying the monthly or yearly PS+ subscription(s) – the longer you keep your games. Buying PSplus means you bought the games that is attached to the service – so essentially the PSPlus games are free. If your account expires, you can possibly re-access them. Just like your current PSN account – if you delete them from your HDD, you can re-download them, how? Well, what you downloaded is recorded – those red bags? Those are your games.
– Special Content: For quite a while, sony has been charging for premium avatars for PSN profiles, wallpapers, and dynamic themes. When you buy the PS+ subscription these special content become free.
– Discounts: Do you want game discounts? You got ’em. The price of these discounts vary from company to company, and from month to month.
– Early Access: If you want early beta and demo access, PS+ provides them. Much better than these beta code lotteries that usually happen on the internet. Or with promotional pre-orders.
– Free access to map packs and DLC’s.
PS+ will arrive on June 29, just after the release of firmware 3.40 which will be on June 22.
Bungie’s been keeping Halo: Reach campaign under wraps for quite a while now, they focused more on multiplayer revelations in recent time, but at E32010, they took off the curtains on the single-player campaign of Halo: Reach. It shows off the scale of the battles while providing awesome, detailed graphics. And then, it shows off some things I don’t want to spoil the surprise on. Just watch the trailer, and enjoy:
Remember the tease trailer I posted for Marvel Vs Capcom 3? Well, Capcom released an extended trailer of the teaser trailer. I enjoyed the trailer, because the music in the background is so cool, and heart pumpin’ awesome. And there are some comical comic references in the trailer that may attract comic book fans. And the trailer isn’t just a trailer, at all, it has some kind of storytelling. It also reveals a boss of the game – Dormammu.
If that’s not enough, here’s the second gameplay trailer of the game:
Marvel vs Capcom has been a subject of some buzz for quite some time since the revelation that Dante and Deadpool are to appear in MvC3. That footage isn’t comparable to an awesome comic-book come-to-life trailer of the game. Dante and Deadpool will be the topic of discussion because Dante can turn into his Demon form and maybe his father’s Dante Sparda form – even though the Dante we see in the trailer is a younger version of Dante. Deadpool is crazier because he can pull off some crazy stunts in the match. Enjoy:
This is just the first gameplay footage shown at E3, stay tuned for more.
It has a few codenames, most notably, Xbox 360+ or Slim Xbox 360. It looks nice, and its shipping as you read this. It has a retail tag of $300. Along with this announcement is that Microsoft has gone ahead and dropped the price of the older models – Arcade will be dropped to $149 from $199, and Elite will be $249 from $299 this week. Yes, the price drops are effective right now.
Here are some of the features of Xbox 360 Slim:
– The Alienware-like design was crafted by the same exact studio that did the various designs of the Alienware line of computers and laptops.
– No more memory cards. Its gone. Your current 360 cards are useless unless you own the old models. The new 360+ has more USB ports on the back, so this means you would need a flash drive to save your Xbox Live profile, gamesaves, and whatnot.
– Its not visible, but there’s a smaller HDD enclosed internally in the system – watch the video above to see where it is. 250GB is the size they’re starting out with the new drive.
– High compatibility with Xbox Kinect.
– Touch sensitive power button and eject button.
– 5 USB slots available – up from 3 that was in the original Xbox 360 models.
– Two HDMI slots – one for video, and the other for sound.
– New power supply port means new power cable.
– Built-in WiFi support means no more need to buy a separate wireless adapters. Perhaps they will release a new adapter, or you can use your current routers to have your 360 communicate with your router’s WiFi – up to Wireless N.
Recently, we’ve gotten a teaser trailer, and premiere trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops. Last night, the publisher of Call of Duty 7 held a conference of their own and gaming sites have gotten ahold of first gameplay footage of Black Ops. I know its not much, but its somethin’ somethin’! And I tell ya, it looks AWESOME!
At the Microsoft Media Conference, Microsoft revealed Project Natal as “Kinect.” Kinect is a motion sensor and camera that tracks your body movements as if you were the controller. The device is competing against Nintendo’s Wii, and PlayStation’s Move. You can do almost anything with Kinect, pretending you were Luke Skywalker in Star Wars, be a professional driver in a NASCAR race, be master chief in Halo, being a track runner, and more. You can turn on your Xbox 360 controller with your voice, or tell your dashboard to go to a certain menu. The video below shows demonstration of what the product can do:
