I’ve been busy this week finishing college finals, and preparing for E32009, so I’m ready to make a few announcements. Every page on the CarlosX360 Network has been changed to reflect these new announcements.

Several announcements this week, the first is the formation of CarlosX360 Co. Ltd. As mentioned on Twitter and my Forums.

You may have heard of two domains that will relate to Modern Warfare 2, I continue to anticipate MW2 by securing a new domain that will act a the homepage of mw2forums, and mw2boards.

  • Duke Nukem Forever Production Trailer Leaked

Duke Nukem Forever Production Trailer Leaked

With 3D Realms closed, the employees leaked the work-in-progress as of the closing:

The game seems like 10 years ahead of its time at the time of the development, now imagine this game was on Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3. I imagine the game to be detailed, fluid, and downright awesome. I know the graphics aren’t quite on par with today’s graphical standards, but if 3DRealms was given a big-fat chunk of development funding, the production quality on the graphics would have been more evident.

What gets me, is that the game seems to have tackled down the whole “differentiation” aspect of the design. You don’t see too many games showing the main character’s legs these days, now do you? Its like the game was going for that “full 3D experience.”

First Modern Warfare 2 Gameplay Revealed?

Millions turned into the NBA Basketball game today only to see this trailer during the commercial break:

I gotta say, that is some great marketing done by Infinity Ward or Activision, making sure the game gets full attention – albeit in a creative, sneaky way. Two thumbs up, boys and girls.

Here’s what Activision had to say about the trailer:

“Everyone on the team is laser focused on making the most gripping experience we’ve ever created,” said Infinity Ward’s CEO, Vince Zampella when the title was announced. “No detail is too small and every finishing touch imaginable is underway to make Modern Warfare 2 our best ever. We can’t wait for our fans around the world to play starting November 10th.”

I swear, its one of the most clever tricks in marketing I’ve seen to date.

3DRealms closed; Internet goes amok, and discusses the closure.

Recently, there has been an uproar over Duke Nukem Forever’s developer 3DRealms recent troubles. As over the last week, 3DRealms has confirmed on its message boards, that the company is closing down.

The news puts Duke Nukem Forever up in the air. However, several reports say that the original IP still belongs to the original owners of 3DRealms. There were suggestions that they could sell the IP to a new owner, others suggest they sell DNF to a company, however, Take Two retains the publishing rights to DNF.

    Enjoy!

  • Marvel Vs Capcom 2 coming to XBL, and PSN

Marvel Vs Capcom 2 coming to XBL, and PSN

Rumors after rumors, the lead up to the announcement of MVC2 has caused quite a stir.

Capcom, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, and Marvel, a leading global character-based entertainment and licensing company, today announced that the oft-requested fighting game, Marvel VS Capcom 2 (MvC2), will be coming to the PLAYSTATION 3 computer entertainment system and Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and the this summer via digital distribution. The classic fighter pits some of Capcom’s familiar faces against a host of Marvel Comic’s biggest names in explosive three-on-three team battles. Marvel VS Capcom 2 has been rated T for Teen by the Entertainment Software Ratings Board and will be available for purchase on Xbox LIVE Arcade for Xbox 360 for 1200 Microsoft Points and the PlayStation Network for $14.99 when the game goes live this summer.

Marvel VS Capcom 2 features the biggest roster of challengers to ever square off in a Capcom fighting game, a total of 56 combined brawlers from both the Capcom and Marvel universes. From the world of Capcom comes characters such as Ryu from the Street Fighter series, Jill Valentine from the Resident Evil games and unofficial company mascot Mega Man. Marvel is represented by some of its biggest names, including the Invincible Iron Man, Captain America, the Sentinel of Liberty, and War Machine, Weapon of S.H.I.E.L.D. Players can mix and match from both worlds in order to create their own ideal three man/woman/robot/monster team-up.

Marvel VS Capcom 2 is designed to be a gateway for new players to experience the fun of fighting games while providing a deep system for hardcore fighting fans to dig into. Action is based around colorful, exaggerated attacks that include gigantic projectile attacks (such as Ryu’s fireball or Dr. Doom’s Plasma Beam) and high-flying aerial moves (like Spider-Man’s Maximum Spider or Cammy’s Killer Bee Attack). The controls are somewhat simplified from the classic six-button system at the heart of Capcom games like Street Fighter IV, utilizing a four-button control scheme for the action, with two “assist” buttons that pull in your team members for additional support.

Due to the amazing combination of Marvel and Capcom characters and the game’s celebrated fighting system and graphics, MvC2 has been a hotly sought-after title on the game collector’s circuit. Previously owned copies for older game consoles have been demanding more than $100 in auctions and at specialty video game outlets. Now players who have been desperately searching out used copies of the game will be able to go hands-on and play online with the same great online experience from Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix. Additionally, Capcom has added an optional advanced visual filter that improves the overall appearance of the game and added online modes, including Ranked Matches and the popular Player “Quarter” Match, that allows up to four people to watch and chat while two others are battling it out.

There are reports from other news outlets that the game is ready to land on XBL, and PSN on June 29th.

Annnd, here’s the teaser trailer for the game that is coming to both Xbox Live and PlayStation Network.

  • Warner Bros. eyes ongoing Midway sale.

Warner Bros. eyes ongoing Midway sale.

Recently, Midway has been seeking a sale of the company, and/or its brand portfolio. Three Suitors made themselves known. One of those brands include the once famous Mortal Kombat franchise. Still to this day, there are millions of passionate Mortal Kombat fans.

We don’t know if the company will be purchased as a whole, including the assets that come with the company, and the intellectual properties they own. They have a whole lot of them in their belts; among the names are Rampage, Gauntlet, Joust, SF Rush series, Robotron, Paperboy, the Blitz series, NBA Jam, the list goes on and on. Or they’re going to sell them separate.

But what we DO know is that Warner Bros. has an eye on the ongoing search for a owner, MCV has gotten word from a source within Warner Bros. about the possible Midway sale:

“Warner is pretty confident that they will get Midway – which will be an immediate boost to their portfolio. The deal isn’t done yet. Midway is still open to offers from other potential buyers – but Warner looks to be favourite to wrap it up. They look ready to put the money on the table.”

Now, I’m not liking the idea of Mortal Kombat being owned by a company that took the sauce out of Mortal Kombat as far as it can get to a “T” rating label. I’m not sure I like the idea of Warner Bros. doing it. I want my Mortal Kombat back. I want to see the game as it should have been created from the beginning! I want my “M” rated Mortal Kombat, not the barebones ‘Kombat!

I don’t care who owns Mortal Kombat, if Epic buys it, fine. If ID software buys it, fine. If 3D realms buys it, fine. But I don’t want to see it bought by a company that yanks the core trademark of the series; brutality, at the expense of another franchise in a “Vs” crossover game.

I DON’T CARE who it is, just as long as it sounds like a match. A mature game does not belong on a kiddy company’s hand. I, however, like the idea of UbiSoft owning the rights to Mortal Kombat, since they have some experience doing mature games.

  • MvsC2 may come, but teaser site seems fake.

MvsC2 may come, but teaser site seems fake.

There has been a lot of leaks concerning MvsC2 recently, first up was the initial “leak” found by neoGAF user about ESRB listing for the game. There’s even a picture to prove it was real (one that you can see to your right). There’s been a leak of achievements, as well. And a listing that was found by Kombo. The leaks never seem to end, does it?

No, sir. A shopping site ShopTo listed a MvsC2 fightstick, which since has been taken down. Another shopping site called cdwOw had seven different fightsticks listed, and have also been removed.

tu4r.com has been spread across the internet already and people are thinking that the site is a teaser site; TheMegaMan Network even states that the site is being loaded from a Capcom Nameserver.

Sorry, folks, but checking domaintools.com (or any domain registrar), the domain is owned by someone named “Kathleen Alley” of Redwood City, CA. And nameservers are pointed to “DOMAINCONTROL.COM” which is entirely different from the Capcom nameservers (I checked). Capcom’s nameservers have “PBI.NET” as their hosting company. However, devilmaycry.com and bioniccommando.com are hosted on “WORLDNIC.COM” nameservers. I’m still getting the feeling this may be a hoax. If you want to be consistent, you must follow the trend.

And upon more investigation, Capcom’s Website, Capcom’s GameSites devilmaycry.com and bioniccommando.com all have their registrant contact listed as the Capcom HQ:

    Capcom U.S.A., Inc.
    475 Oakmead Parkway
    Sunnyvale, CA 94085-4709 US
    408-774-3941 fax: 408-774-3985

I want to point out that, this is Capcom’s old HQ address; they reside in San Mateo, CA. Which is about a few cities away from Redwood City, CA. I live here, so I know.

  • UbiSoft unveils Assassin’s Creed II

    UbiSoft unveils Assassin’s Creed II

SAN FRANCISCO – April 16, 2009 – Today Ubisoft announced that Ubisoft Montreal is developing Assassin’s Creed II on all current-generation platforms for a scheduled Holiday 2009 release. The initial installment of Assassin’s Creed® was released in November 2007 to popular and critical success, selling 8 million copies worldwide and garnering awards such as Best Action Game 2007 from 1UP and Outstanding Achievement in Animation from the AIAS.

Assassin’s Creed II is the product of over two years of intensive development by the original creative team behind the Assassin’s Creed brand. In a vast open world environment, the game invites players to incarnate Ezio, a privileged young noble in Renaissance Italy who’s been betrayed by the rival ruling families of Italy. Ezio’s subsequent quest for vengeance plunges players into a captivating and epic story that offers more variety in missions, surprising and engaging new gameplay elements, diverse weapons and a profound character progression that will appeal to fans of the original Assassin’s Creed as well as entice players new to the brand.

“Our creative team is working hard to top the experience of Assassin’s Creed,” said Patrice Desilets, creative director at Ubisoft. “We’ve made improvements to every aspect of the game. We’ve plunged ourselves into the stunning history of the Italian Renaissance so that we can offer fans a unique, varied and innovative Assassin’s Creed experience.”

Additional details on Assassin’s Creed II are revealed in the May issue of Game Informer.

Let me point out that MTV Multiplayer has gotten response from UbiSoft representative confirming which console it will arrive on, and its Xbox 360, PS3, PC, and PSP.

And here is the teaser trailer for the game:
