Abundance of MW2 videos and info!

There was a huge Media event hosted by Infinity Ward. They took off the curtains on Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer to the members of the press. GameTrailers were there to capture some of the gameplay footage.

    Capture the Flag Gameplay:

The first thing to notice is that you can detonate the airdrop of your predator missile at the location of your choice. And you have to “open” the box in order to get your missile. From here on out, you can find a place that is not occupied by anyone, and pullout your “laptop” for a missile drop. The second thing to notice is that while you can secure a new flag, you can also kill a defender of the flag, you get a challenge for it – called “Offense.”

Here, once a player gets into two or three player crossfire, an Activision or Infinity Ward representative turned the camera around for some “secret” little info? What the hell? If you don’t mean for the camera to show it, why don’t you leave it out of the beta? Hmm? Geez, talk about interruptions! WE WANT NEW INFO!

Anyway, back to the game, recently, there’s been a leak about akimbo and this video shows what I suggested a while ago. The player is using a one-handed pistol, yet – its the same pistol found in the Akimbo leak. Which confirms pretty much what I suggested – you can pick up akimbo as an option (maybe from a button hold, or by the fact that the pistol has ammo in it), many think that this may be a perk, but the video suggests otherwise. I refer you to the rep turning the camera. Hehe.

Here, you can see that you get points for USING the predator missile, and killing them. Separately. As mentioned before, there’s Buzzkill, in which you kill the person with one kill left to have a nice killstreak. And now, you can Rescue your teammate by killing the person who’s battling them. You get points for rescuing them.

In this video, you can see a Silenced Shotgun! Obviously not for every kind of match, but 200 points will score limit a capture the flag match. The other thing you can see is that there are two new teams: Task Force 141 and Militia. You can gain new titltes, new emblems for your callsigns, now instead of calling each weapon slots as simply “weapon slots” we’re now calling them “weapon classes” and this hints at customizable classes – just like the original game. Your summary screen has been improved to include your gamertag, and your callsigns – however, it also shows a brand new feature: Accolades. The game gives you Accolades based on what you did in the match.

    Demolition Gameplay:

Nothing much goin’ on here, other than more gameplay. Which is good. I should mention that Demolition is basically two bombsites, and you’re probably supposed to plant them both AND let the time tinker down to its last second like a typical Sabotage match. You ask me? Sabotage mixed with Domination.

Once again, nothing much going on here…..Just more Modern Warfare! Hehe! You can tell I can’t wait for this freakin’ game!

We know a lot from this video. Headshots now earn you points. There is Time Extention for destroying one part of the Demolition match. If you’re killed a number of times by the same player, you can make a comeback – and that is your bonus!

That’ll be all for this post.

  • Second MW2 Multiplayer Video!

    Second MW2 Multiplayer Video!

I posted the first multiplayer video, and I have posted some video leaks, and now I am posting a video straight from Infinity Ward:

The following analysis is being used with permission from iKon (True Talent Leader):

    – My first obversation is obvious, Capture the Flag is now a confirmed gametype. It looks to be a multi-flag gametype with no time. Also, you can’t capture your own flag when the enemy has yours. One more thing I noticed about this gametype is right to the right of the mini-map in the top left hand corner, you can see the display of a green flag (indicating your own and whether it’s taken or not) and a red flag (which has the name of the player who has the enemy flag next to it).

    – If you pause at 0:21, you can see the [lulz]royceIW9 looks to have some type of blue camouflage on. This could hint at character customization.

    – A lot to say here if you pause it at 0:32. First off, there is now a mini-display that pops up right in the bottom center of your screen when you kill someone. Here is what’s on it; Callsigns (if you notice, it says You Killed ‘Silent Veteran’ and throughout the rest of the video, you’ll see other ones such as ‘BOOM Headshot’ and ‘Armed and Dangerous’) and right underneath that, it shows his actual gamertag). Second thing is what I’m assuming is some sort of avatar, it’s right to the right of the callsign and there is a small pic there with guns crossing with the word ’44 Magun’ right underneath it (throughout the video, you’ll see different ones as well including a Skull rotating gold coin, a pic of a shark, a gas mask, a pic of the heartbeat sensor, a pic of scattered bullets and a pic of a soldier). Finally, it also shows the enemy rank.

    – If you pause at 0:35, you can see DKo5 run over a weapon pickup and it says ‘SCAR-H Bling’. I’m not quite sure what this means, it could be a temporary way for IW to hide attachments they don’t want us to see, or you could be able to ‘bling out’ your weapons?

    – If you pause at 0:45, you can see that the MP5k has been confirmed.

    – From 0:44 – 0:58 you can see that UAV has been confirmed and he also got a killstreak reward at 4 kills (AIRDROP), then another at 5 (PREDATOR MISSILE). This obviously means that you can fully customize your killstreaks even down to what kill you get them at? Also, not really sure what AIRDROP could mean but I’m assuming it’s ammo for the team. I’m assuming PREDATOR MISSILE is going to be quite deadly, but by the sounds of it, you’re only going to get one shot.

    – If you pause at 1:04, you can see DKo5 run over another weapon pickup and it says ‘UMP45 Extended Mags’. This confirms the UMP45 and extended mags will be in the game. Also in this time period, you can see that [lulz]royceIW9 kills somebody with the riot shield (bashing enabled?).

    – If you pause at 1:06, you can see DKo5 run over another weapon pickup that says ‘Tar-21 FMJ’. I’m really wondering what this ‘FMJ’ could mean. I know it stands for Full Metal Jacket and that’s a type of round. So, maybe you can switch what kind of rounds you are using?

    – If you pause at 1:13, when DKo5 is flanking player ‘Slime’, he looks quite different than the soldiers encountered earlier, more hints at characater customization.

    – If you pause at 1:18, you can see a new challenge called ‘Flag Captured’ for capturing an enemy flag. Seems obvious, but why I pointed this out is you get +250XP. I think this means it’s going to take longer to level up.

    – Then there is obviously the last part of the video. Here is what I noticed from it. First off, there is now Host Migration so when the host of the game quits, it doesnt end. It will just find a new player to host and resume the game right where it left off. Another thing is that if you look close enough, it looks like DKo5 has a silencer and a red-dot on that Kriss he is carrying (x2 attachments?). One more thing is that it looks like you can now choose ‘throwing knives’ as an alternative to your primary grenades. Also, there is another new challenge called ‘Bullseye’ and it’s for killing an enemy with a throwing knife and it nets you +175XP. One more thing I noticed is that 402 seems to be using the .50 cal sniper rifle at the end, but when DKo5 kills him, he is only level 11. You get it earlier possibly? Or was it just to show it off? The last and final thing I noticed was a perk maybe? If you notice when DKo5 is approaching 402 at the end, his mini-map fades to all Grey and after he kills him it comes right back.

    Dual Wielding with Akimbo:
Recently, Robert Bowling said in a tweet about his presentation at a recent GameCrazy convention the crowd went crazy after showing off dual wielding [Details]. Robert Bowling is Infinity Ward’s community manager, so anything that comes out of his mouth is offcial. Everything else is hersay. However, a youtube user was able to grab some proof of Akimbo in MW2 at GamesCom:

    Single Player Demostration:

I love the realistic flow and feel of the game especially when they got to the garage door where a few soldiers were standing by with a few words to say. And then the game allows you to move on. The game continues the streamlined, smooth feel in movement and animations. I also am lovin’ the level design.

    Special Ops Demostration:
Special Ops was revealed both by Game Informer [Details], and Robert Bowling. It is a mode similar to Mile High Club found in the original Modern Warfare. So far, we’ve only seen images of the mode [Details], until now:

Is there going to be ANY more goddamn gameplay? Well, there’s the first multiplayer video, but Robert Bowling has been teasing about a new multiplayer video the past few weeks now, it was supposed to be released this week, but has been delayed to this upcoming tuesday. More details here.

  • A new $299 price tag, and a new PS3 model!

A new $299 price tag, and a new PS3 model!

With the announcement of a new Firmware for PS3 around the corner, we have gotten a price drop on current PS3 models and a stunning announcement of a slimmer PS3 that’s been rumored for a while now.

Here’s a video straight from SCEA President and CEO Jack Tretton:

  • Were my predictions right?

    Were my predictions right?

In my blog entry posted shortly before E32009, I’ve posted my pedictions. But; were they right?

    360° Sensor? 360° Waggle? 360° Wand?
Microsoft unveils the final product of the motion sensor controller, numerous rumors has suggested it will be revealed very soon, others are saying its already been revealed in prototype form. Along with it, will be a few new IP’s that take advantage of the peripheral.
Confirmed! It was unveiled as Project Natal. And THQ pledges support for Natal.

PS3 and PSP Go at E32009?
PSP Go and PS3 are the big announcements that will highlight at E32009, there has been lots and lots of rumors and speculation surrounding the picture that first came onto the internet about PS3 slim. The closer the date gets to E32009, the better the rumors sound. So, a price drop may not happen for the current models; but a slim PS3 will act as the third SKU and will be looked at as a “price drop” by many consumers. Mostly because redesigns are supposed to eliminate costs associated with producing the hardware. A dual picture confirms this because of the striking similarity of the boxes – coupled with a video that Qore subscribers have been getting made the whole dual announcement more likely. The big megaton is PS3, and PSP Go – many sites such as GameSpot, and PlayStation Lifestyle confirms it.
Confirmed! PS3 Slim is released in the first of September. PSPGo is released in October.

    Seeeeeeeegaaa
Sega has been hard at work on a major surprise at E32009 – The dream still lives! Dreamcast 2 is coming with 15 launch titles, a DreamMote, an updated VMU that has a sweet looking color screen, it will have an online infrastructure similar to Xbox Live, and it will allow for HD games through awesome graphics. Release Date: 09/09/09 Nah, Just teasing. Just kidding.
This was supposed to be a big joke!

    Metal Gear Next? NeoMetalGear!?
There has been speculation about Kojima’s recent teaser website. One possibility is that the game relates to a much talked remake of Snatcher, a possible grown up sunny as speculated by a Blu Ray Forum, or possibly Gray Fox himself. What if I told you, that maybe the face behind the cyborg ninja (using Raiden’s exoskeleton) is someone’s daughter? Namely Olga’s? Hmm? And on top of that, there’s an alien version of Olga – since the teaser shows two things: One is an alien form, and the other is the destoryed; yet gifted version of the alien form. I have a feeling that someone got ahold of Olga’s body to retain the blood, and DNA in order to attract Sunny into becoming a part of a new terrorist organization.
Confirmed! Its been revealed as Metal Gear Solid: Rising!

  • First MW2 Multiplayer Video!

    First MW2 Multiplayer Video!

Here’s what I see so far:

    KillStreaks
    – Killstreak loadout
    – Create your killstreak

    Challenges
    – New Buzzkill
    – New Payback (for camping in the same place/teamkilling?)

    More Explosive weapons
    – New perk loadout
    – New ways to kill bystanders.

If you notice that everytime you blast out a powerful weapon, your surroundings also explodes.

    Better graphics, lightning, and details
    – More objects onscreen
    – New locations to walk on, and kill.

Now, you need to watch out for people on horizontal view.

  • MW2 Prestige Edition Unboxing

    MW2 Prestige Edition Unboxing

I am personally getting both “Harden” Edition (Limited Edition) for Xbox 360, and Prestige Edition for PS3! This also gives you an idea of how things will go on sale. I think that the whole Call of Duty “tag” will only be for regular, casual people who has never played a Call of Duty game. Or for those who don’t know what Modern Warfare 2 is. On the other hand, the Harden Edition and Prestige Edition are for those people who have been passionate about Infinity Ward and COD4 (Modern Warfare).

I really don’t think that the Call of Duty “tag” should have been on top of Modern Warfare 2. Infinity Ward was smart about dropping the name from the overall game. Word of Mouth will take care of itself on top of the whole marketing and advertising blitz Activision is planning for Modern Warfare 2, that said.

I am going to go forward with my plans of launching mwarfaretwo.com, mw2forums.com and mw2boards.com – if I have to buy an existing MW2 website, I will.

  • CarlosX360 at E32009: Capcom Games

    CarlosX360 at E32009: Capcom Games

Capcom had a small booth this year, but you couldn’t miss the booth, no matter where you stood. Capcom sure knows how to be noticed and attract them all the same. I was attending E32009 as media this year and was able to be playing most of the games in Capcom’s list.

Marvel vs Capcom 2 (PS3 and Xbox 360) – Capcom did more than just a port, they upgraded the game to fix the issues that were found in the PS2 version, and re-did the graphics to fit into the HD-era. And, boy, it looks gorgeous. Its coming soon, so you’ll be able to play this. Surprisingly, there are a few that would play this. I was looking for a challenge, and I won, but then I lost to another dude. Dam.

Tatsunoko vs Capcom (Wii) – This game was hogged by many players during the time I was there; everyone wanted to play. And since it was new to me, I was going like “whoa” and other words – some moves were new to me, like Chun Li’s super kicks. Get this, you can do it in the air, too. What amazed me, was that some players knew how to play. It was nice watching you guys play, boys. Especially that tall african dude.

Lost Planet 2 (Multiplatform) – Game of the Booth – I think this is the best thing that was displayed at E3 by Capcom. They really fixed a lot of the issues many people had, and many of the issues I didn’t like, at all, either. Co-Op is highly featured in this game, and that’s just crazy more than 4 players Co Op? SIGN ME UP! I’m getting this the day its out. I hope its online.

Dark Void (Multiplatform) – One of the most confusing games on the show floor.

Editor’s Note: This is a recap of a post at Capcom-Unity.com.

I will post the images when I get home. I will also, in the next few days post impressions of Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, Dark Void, MAG, God of War 3, Tekken 6, Split Second. After that, I will begin testing the waters on creating new videos (sorry, no videos from E3 this year, next year I will be more prepared for that).

  • CarlosX360’s E32009 Predictions

    CarlosX360’s E32009 Predictions

Everyone is doing predictions all over the internet. And I’ll be the last person on the queue on the road to E32009.

Lost and Damned heads to PS3?
Maybe Microsoft has a curse for having their exclusives jump ship? Sony may be getting Lost and Damned onto their PS3 console because the game was a timed exclusive. PlayStation Insider claims that Lost and Damned may be going to PS3, and that the $50 million doesn’t apply to just Lost and Damned, the agreement may mean that Xbox 360 gets not one, but TWO DLC’s for GTA4. The name of the second DLC is The Ballad of Gay Tony. It will be available on Xbox 360 this fall, for 20 bucks a piece.

These models, are not intended to replace the current models – they are going to be the second or third pillars of the PlayStation brand mostly because these models are supposed to act as the “download consoles” like OnLive. And judging by the release date for PSP Go (which is Fall 2009), the new PS3 model will be launched in the same window.

    Nintendo’s Surprise? WiiHD?
Nintendo has always grabbed a rabbit out of its hat consistently over the last decade that E3 has been alive. Nintendo has always won E3? Will they do it again especially with DSi just released? And when you have Sony coming out with two major announcements? Well, if you’ve been reading up lately about PSP Go, and PS3 Slim – chances are that Wii will get a remodel, or a enhanced Wii through WiiHD? WiiSense? The other surprise may be a new Zelda since a recent patent (#1 and #2) has been filed for use with Zelda’s Puzzles.

I have a feeling that someone got ahold of Olga’s body to retain the blood, and DNA in order to attract Sunny into becoming a part of a new terrorist organization.

Then again, John Olin of XboxEvolved, said in his twitter that the number “5” in earlier teasers may indicate the fifth IP from Konami/Kojima Productions.

There are evidence that suggests that there is going to be a situation that involves Sunny and her mother. First things first. Kojima left holes into the plot between Olga’s death, and the daughter, like for example; What happened to Sunny after she was ‘freed’ by Otacon? And who happens to be the kid that Sunny met? What part does he have in the new Metal Gear?

I saw the teaser all this time, and I saw that Snake (or Big Boss) teaser. I think it is Snake, a Metal Gear website speculates this. From the image, you can tell he’ll be a colonel, or Master Chief but for what organization? It certainly isn’t FoxHound, it certainly isn’t the Patriots. I think that Snake has healed to the point that the FoxDie allowed him to revert back to aging normalcy. Big Boss couldn’t be alive, because he let himself rest at the end of MGS4. Liquid Snake and Ocelot are dead, but that doesn’t stop someone from getting his genetic DNA and creating clones like they have from Big Boss.

Looking closely between the teaser image and the box art – they’re identical, and Big Boss’ face is very different from the teaser image (this vs this and on top of that there’s a touched up version of it) so its Snake. The other thing that I have noticed is that some think that the box art of MGS4 doesn’t show snake’s eye. But during the game we’ve seen Snake’s eyes wether he’s using the Snake Eye, or not. There’s a possibility that we’ll see old Snake in action before we actually see the new patched-up snake? And that the love of his life may come into his life much the same way Eva walked into Big Boss’ life? And with this, this person acts as an informant to the new organization and tries the same situation on Old Snake?

…..Mortal KombatOr what’s left of it.
Next week is the final chance for ANY suspecting bidder to bid on Midway assets including Mortal Kombat along with Warner Bros. eyeing the buyout of the Mortal Kombat brand – and offering Midway a total sum of 33 million straight up for Midway US assets. Midway will be owned by a new company, and Mortal Kombat 8 will be revealed next week during E3 to help skyrocket Midway’s stock price. And whoever owns Mortal Kombat better not piss me off.

    Enter the realms of …Forever.
Microsoft moved up their keynote just hours ago. We heard a weeks ago, that 3D Realms was sued by Rockstar over Duke Nukem Forever, but much later, we learned that the company isn’t closing. Sources close to XboxEvolved was saying that the game was also being developed for Xbox 360. All sources before this was old, but the source I’m giving you now, has been online for a few hours now. A developer cites that Duke Nukem Forever was being developed for PC and Xbox 360, and along with it was the timeframe; 2007 through 2009.

What if, the surprise was the acquistion of Midway, or the acquisition of 3D realms, and that either Mortal Kombat or Duke Nukem Forever is exclusive only to Xbox 360 and PC? Hm? The twitter comment said “last-minute” leading me to believe that either one company is to be acquired by Microsoft?

Hellknights invade your home consoles …soon.
I predict that Doom 4 will be unveiled and revealed to the public – the game is to be released sometime next year.

One thing for sure, this year’s E32009 will no doubt be the one to watch. I’ll be there reporting live from the show floor.
