  • Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Multiplayer Revealed

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Multiplayer Revealed

It’s been a while since Activision revealed the single player portion of Black Ops 2 at E32012. Everyone is still anticipating the multiplayer reveal of Black Ops 2, and they thought they had to wait until GameStop Expo 2012 to get their first glimpse into the multiplayer portion of Black Ops 2. Well, fear not, the first multiplayer trailer is online! Enjoy…

Here’s what we see so far:

    – Once you spawn, you will be treated to a menu of sorts. It shows you what weapons and equipment you selected.
    – Double Attachment returns, and this time, it seems to work a lot quicker than that seen in Modern Warfare 3.
    – Assault Drone returns, but is upgraded to futuristic technology. It takes up the entire screen for precision and intensity.
    – Riot Shields return and is also upgraded to allow you to use a machine gun for your opponents.
    – There seems to be a new KillStreak; A portable solar flare that acts like a flashbang with directions. You can keep your enemies back while you rack up kills with it.
    – Obviously, there are new weapons, but the RDS seems to have the most improvements:
+ The RDS is now accompanied by a crosshair, and viewable environment scanner.
+ The environment scanner allows you to see through smoke, as well.
    – Tomohawk seems to get a lot of love in Black Ops 2:
+ Tomohawk is upgraded to be more tech-y. And designed futuristically.
+ Tomohawk will allow you to treat it as a flashbang.
    – Sniper Rifles seems to get an overhaul in many ways. And there seems to be two different types so far.
    – There seems to be a aircraft drone that also acts like a precision airstrike.

  • Get Ready. Black Ops 2 will definitely blow up.

Get Ready. Black Ops 2 will definitely blow up.

Get Ready! Because Black Ops 2 will blow up like no other Call of Duty title has ever done before. Everyone’s been talking about The Dark Knight Rises but nobody’s even talking about how the movie or the co-writer will affect Black Ops 2. David S. Goyer was the co-writer of The Dark Knight Rises, Batman’s latest film. David is the writer of Black Ops 2. Trent Reznor was the Academy Award-winning composer of The Social Network. Trent is doing the musical score in Black Ops 2.

A few days before The Dark Knight Rises premiered, Activision released a video interviewing both men about the story, and the music of Black Ops 2…

When Activision released the video shown above, nobody really knows how good The Dark Knight Rises is. At the time, nobody knows why David Goyer was selected or cares about David Goyer’s influence in Black Ops 2. I have a great understanding of why David Goyer was selected as the writer of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. Call of Duty has always been about adrenaline-pushing stories, so naturally, Mr. Goyer was selected to bring about this to a whole new level.

Okay, so. The Dark Knight grossed 300 million dollars on the opening weekend and beyond. Modern Warfare 3 grossed over 775 million dollars on the first week of sale. Why am I talking numbers and power players? To give you an idea of what to expect out of Black Ops 2. You’re not only getting a good musical score, you’re also getting a great story if David S. Goyer is writing it. If you’re like me, and the millions of movie-goers who watched The Dark Knight Rises, you’ll know that the story is going to be as great as your #1 favorite movie. Live Free or Die Hard was that movie for me, now it’s been replaced by The Dark Knight Rises. I have never seen a director or writer pull off a masterpiece that is The Dark Knight Rises. I won’t spoil it for you, but the movie put me at the edge of my seat the whole way through. You don’t need to watch either Batman Begins or The Dark Knight in order to feel the movie out. It would help, but it’s not required.

Here’s the thing: By the end of The Dark Knight, Batman is this criminal, this vigilante that the police wants so badly. The Dark Knight Rises makes Batman a real #@^&ing legend by the time the movie is finished. In the same movie – Bane, went from a forgettable character in either the comics, or the video games that’s been released thus far – to a memorable character. In Rises, Bane was extremely intimidating, and extremely convincing as a character the whole way through the movie, especially at the climax of the story. This kind of character development isn’t in many movies or video games thus far. Video Games do not often have a deep or an encompassing story enough to develop character into something great. This is something that Black Ops 2 will benefit the most from David Goyer’s writing talent.

The other thing I’d like to point out is that The Dark Knight Rises, and Black Ops 2 have one thing in common. They both used their respective media to debut new technology. In fact, 60% of The Dark Knight Rises is all about Batman’s various vehicles or weapons. My favorite? The Bat’s scenes. I was like “Oh $#!^. Oh $#!^.”

One of the most interesting facts about The Dark Knight is that the music in the movie is composed by none other than Hans Zimmer. If you recall, Hans Zimmer did the musical score for …Modern Warfare 2.

So, by now, you understand why Black Ops 2 will indeed blow up. By the time Black Ops 2 is released to retailers worldwide, you can expect Black Ops 2 to sell so good, that it will be on a weekly basis until the Call of Duty formula is played out.

  • Black Ops 2 Multiplayer to be revealed at GameStop Expo 2012

Black Ops 2 Multiplayer to be revealed at GameStop Expo 2012

Ever since Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 was revealed, many people were expecting a multiplayer blowout by Activision. As last year, Activision held an exposition for Call of Duty gamers, called CODXP (Call of Duty XP) which featured a multiplayer blowout of Modern Warfare 3. Call of Duty fans were bummed when Activision revealed that CODXP would not be happening this year. Dan Amrich on twitter said there’d be a surprise to all Call of Duty fans. News outlets have penned a Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 blowout in August. Well, it’s official. GameStop corporation revealed their first Expo called GameStop Expo 2012. It will take place in San Antonio, Texas on August 29th.

Early in the month, there’s also Gamescom in Germany. It’s not expected that Black Ops 2 multiplayer will make the cut, instead it’s expected that a new trailer will be released then. And a little more information about this Black Ops Declassified for PlayStation Vita.

In any case, GameStop Expo has all the big reveals happening over there. Just about every major game publisher will be there.

Unlocking an Armageddon on satellites all around the world.

Here’s what we know so far; we know that “The Future is Black.” is the major theme of the entire game. There are blackouts all over the world in Black Ops 2. It’s been hinted at for a while now, by experts that this is the reality that’s going to happen at some point. See for yourself…

This video was released a few months ago, and I have been waiting for the right time to use it. This is it.

Other stuff found in the trailer are:

    – Adrenaline pushing storyline is the theme.
    – Cordis Die is the enemy faction in Black Ops 2, the country of origin that started this international war is Nicaragua.
    – Raul Menendez is the leader of Cordis Die, apparently.
    – Cordis Die is hailed as the messiah of the 99%.
    – David S. Goyer the co-writer of the upcoming Batman movie titled “The Dark Knight Rises” is doing the story in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.
    – Trent Reznor, the award winning composer is doing the musical score in Black Ops 2.
    – Woods looks like he’s moping around and sinking in his sorrows of some kind of calamity in his life.
    – One of the major “turning points” in the game is going to take place in the Vault, when someone pays a visit to Sgt. Woods.
    – Pre-Order Black Ops 2 today, and get the NukeTown Bonus DLC Map.

  • Black Ops 2 E32012 trailer

    Black Ops 2 E32012 trailer

At Microsoft’s E32012 press conference, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 took center stage, and was presented by Microsoft’s President of Interactive Entertainment Business Don Mattric. As reported before, Black Ops 2 takes place in the future, specifically in the year 2025. Although the game’s setting takes place in the future, the single player campaign also features settings taking place in the 1980’s only to give some kind of backstory. Well, Black Ops 2’s single player mode was presented at Microsoft’s conference with a lot of cool gameplay.

Here’s what we know so far:

    – You’re sitting next to the president of the United States. It’s a woman.
    – You’re about to be deployed to the heart of the Civil War between U.S. and China.
    – Only to be hit with a surprise attack on the bridge earlier than expected.
    – The location is indeed downtown Los Angeles, the SAME area as L.A. convention center the primary home of E3.
    – This operation is codenamed “Section” but Project P.O.T.M.S is probably the name of the Squad and/or P.M.C being sent to this mission, or is the name of the mission.
    – It’s confirmed that you will be using your Mobile PDA to track where you need to go.
    – More adrenaline-pressured battles; enemies and aircraft will attempt to kill you first thing you get out of your Humvee. I have a feeling the game will crank up difficulty level as time rolls on.
    – In exchange, your single-player vehicles will help you through the game, such as the future tanks that will launch more than one missile at a time; lock on, and load!
    – A new sniper rifle from the future is revealed, and it will be able to show you the enemies in bright white color, and it will allow you to shoot through walls, cars, and what have you.
    – The sniper rifle’s reload speed is slow and it tells you when it’s ready on the right side HUD.
    – “In interest of time” returns, and it moves you into the ground this time.
    – Not only are the environments refreshingly new, it’s very detailed. I see a lot of creativity from Treyarch in here.
    – Your mobile PDA can tell the quadrotor to attack in front of you, as it emits a blue light to signal where to attack.
    – Then, for a bit, you’re at a scene where the building collaspses in front of you and you can barely see. Until you see an aircraft; you can use it!
    – You’re to protect your P.M.C troops, and whoever else is considered “Collateral Damage.”
    – Then you’re treated to some enemies who are in their own aircrafts, and you chase them.
    – Demo comes to an abrupt end.
    – DLC is going to Xbox Live first as usual. [source]

Before the game was revealed on live TV, websites got ahold of in-game images of the Quadrotor. Here they are: Black Ops 2 screenshot 1 and screenshot 2.

The game’s setting is obviously in the future. The game takes place in 2025, a 21st century Cold War has erupted.
