PS3 players aren't able to play with PS4 players

So apparently anybody playing on PS3 won't be able to play with players who own PS4, anybody now if that's true?

Current information is that there will be no cross-platform play, so no PS3 with PS4.

Can kind of understand that Sony doesn't want to give you a reason not to upgrade just like xbox won't. I wouldn't be surprised though that if you started on a ps3 then got a ps4 they'd let you transfer your saves. But that is purely just me speculating

Judging by pre order numbers (US only) then each platform should have enough players, although the least amount of players seem to be on the PS3.
