Hello, my name is Carlos Morales. I'm the Founder and C.E.O. at CarlosX360 Co., Ltd. On February 2nd, I paid $600 to @Chris to outright acquire (purchase) PSVitaForum.com
Now, I'm sure you have many questions, and I'm glad to get you up-to-speed. As you're well aware by my introduction: I run a company. I've been spending a lot of money out of my own pockets (and my family's, as well), to ensure the future of my company ends up in an upswing.
This did not come lightly, or as a surprise. For 2 years now, since sometime in 2012 - I've always, always had intentions of buying PSVitaForum. I promised myself I'd purchase it. I promised myself I'd be persistent in acquiring it. 3 months ago, it happened. Chris finally, finally said "Yes. I think that's a good move."
I've been mired in controversy ever since, and it got worse on Feb 3rd, onward. Just too many people assuming, being sketical, and what have you.
Allow me to put your concerns to rest:
What is your intention with PSVitaForum?
There's two sides to this answer: I love PlayStation. I love Video Games. However, PSVita is on a decline, and I've echo'ed this before. A few people have echo'ed the same sentiment. PSVitaForum has been through different iterations in the community, and the last 2 tries has been failures. One person brought up, "Everything has to be new; New URL, New Community feel, New everything." And you know what? I agree.
On the other side: I run a business, as you know. And the only way for me not only to become more successful as an entrepreneur - I also have to prove to investors that there's a market in the Video Game industry. The only way to become more successful is to have a solid foundation which I now have with PSVitaForum. This is not a chore to me, so don't get me wrong.
It takes more time, and it costs more to build a new site than to acquire a pre-existing site.
Why are you purchasing this site if you don't care about PSVita?
Look at yourself. I bought the community for the people. I bought the community because I love being in it. When I see a thread that really, really interests me. You guys rope me in because you guys are very thoughtful.
How are you going to grow this community?
Ahh, I thought you'd never ask! I'm a marketing guy. I know where to roar at the top of my lungs. I know where to place a story, I know how to present posts, tweets, and whatnot. Oh, and I'm known to be really, really controversial - as you've seen thus far.
Where do you want to go, and who is your target?
I want to take this community and evolve it to a level where an end gamer comes in and asks a question without having to wait another second for an answer. I want a gamer that can discuss video games in length without having to resort to attacks, insults, and trolling.
I want the entire video game market. That's one of the reasons why I bought PSVitaForum. I've seen a lot of sites come and go - and niche websites like this? They either die a slow death, or get deleted because an admin neglected to keep up with the site.
Let me ask you a question: Would you rather have a chance to talk to your old friends from 2012, and stay in touch with those folks? Well, you're in luck, dude... because that's what I'm trying to accomplish here.
We're going to move to a new site when I am finished with the acquisition. There's a PSVita community in it, as luck would have it! There's Xbox players, there's PlayStation players. Even if you're not enticed - I have a bigger plan in the frying pan to push all of this to the next level.
