New Nintendo Direct reveals the Super Mario Bros Movie

In 2018, Nintendo announced their new Super Mario film, and that it would be developed by Illumination, best known for the “Minions” comedy franchise. In a September 2021 Ninendo Direct livestream, Nintendo reiterated that they’d reveal more information on their Super Mario film. That day arrived, on October 4, 2022 – Nintendo announced that there’d be a Nintendo Direct livestream, in addition to the reveal at Comic Con. On October 6, 2022 – Nintendo and Illumination jointly unveiled “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” to the New York Comic Con (NYCC) 2022 event, and revealed “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” in a Nintendo Direct livestream to the world…

The Super Mario Bros. Movie by Illumination and Nintendo will be released April 7, 2023 in theatres… No word of which streaming service it will arrive to, but it’s important to note, that the distributor for the film is Universal Studios.

Recap of Ubisoft Forward and Disney Showcase

Today, we’re recapping what happened over the past weekend. It was home to two livestreams. Both of which can be a bit underwhelming. But first we’re gonna focus on Ubisoft Forward 2022:

Ubisoft revealed a slew of blockbuster announcements such as the Assassin’s Creed games. There’s a few announcements for The Division, a gameplay blowout of Mario & Rabbids Sparks of Hope, but the big announcement from the livestream is obviously the several Assassin’s Creed games…

Sega announces the Full Game List for Genesis Mini 2
It has been a while since SEGA released the first Sega Genesis Mini console to retailers worldwide. Sega slowly announced Sega Genesis Mini 2 via their Japanese version known as “Mega Drive Mini 2.” At first, it was not apparent that Mega Drive Mini 2 would come west, to United States. However, recently, SEGA officially announced that Genesis Mini 2 is in fact, coming west. Sega announced that 50 games will come prepackaged with the Genesis Mini 2, and will launch on October 27, 2022 with no price given. It IS, however, exclusive to Amazon, so you won’t be able to get it anywhere else than Amazon.

Recently, Sega announced the full list of Genesis Mini 2 games. Along with the announcement, Sega also bumped the list of games from 50 to 60 to compensate for the loss of Lunar: The Silver Star, and Lunar: Eternal Blue from the North American version of Genesis Mini 2.

Pre-Order Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, get story campaign earlier

It has been a short while since Infinity Ward revealed the flythrough of one of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II’s maps – called “Marina Bay Grand Prix.” Infinity Ward said they’ll drip feed new trailers, information, and more. There has been drip feeds of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II footage on TikTok, and they’ve continued the content drops. This time, though, recently Infinity Ward released a new video on YouTube, and announced a pre-order bonus for players that pre-order through digital stores on PlayStation, Xbox & PC. Pre-Order Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II on any digital store, you can get the Modern Warfare II story campaign at least one week before launch… (That is, barring any outages, and timezone differences.)

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II is scheduled to be released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, and PC via Battle.net and Steam on October 28, 2022.

Nintendo springs 2 surprise announcements

Nintendo has been on fire recently with two Nintendo Directs back to back, the first one was a Xenoblade Chronicles 3-focused Nintendo Direct livestream, the second one was a third-party focused Nintendo Direct Mini livestream. Nintendo then, followed up with a collaborative livestream hosted by Ubisoft for Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope. Nintendo was not finished – they dropped two new videos to YouTube: The first video was a game announcement – Kirby’s Dream Buffet. I’m not completely sure what this game is, but it looks like a Fall Guys inspired game…

The next video was a release date trailer for Bayonetta 3…

Nintendo says Kirby’s Dream Buffet is scheduled for a Summer 2022 release. But we’re in the middle of July. Weird. Bayonetta 3, on the other hand is scheduled for October 28, 2022!

Nintendo Direct – June 22, 2022 Livestream focuses on Xenoblade Chronicles 3

It has been a while since Nintendo and Monolith Soft announced Xenoblade Chronicles 3, which was announced and revealed in February 2022, during a Nintendo Direct livestream. In April 2022, Nintendo then announced an official release date for Xenoblade Chronicles 3. Nintendo is currently hosting a special “Nintendo Direct” livestream to spotlight Xenoblade Chronicles 3, which is being released exclusively for Nintendo Switch in July. Enjoy the new livestream…

Final Fantasy VII 25th Anniversary Livestream reveals new games

Summer Game Fest 2022 is still ongoing as we speak. It has been a while since we’ve heard anything about anything Final Fantasy 7-related. [Final Fantasy 7 Remake gets a new trailer, Square Enix releases new Final Fantasy 7 Remake Trailer] Square Enix hosted a livestream called “Final Fantasy VII 25th Anniversary Celebration.” And it featured two big announcements. It was a short livestream, but at least we got the juicy announcements that we all wanted…

I’ll list it so you don’t need to watch the whole thing, because most of it is in Japanese. However, the video(s) embedded have captions. Anyway, here we go: Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis Mobile Remake, Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier Update, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion is a remake of the original Crisis Core, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade was available for PC, but the new release is for Steam, and/or Steam Deck compatibility. The show closed with Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2, which is now known as Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, and it is completely exclusive to PlayStation 5. There is no other logo next to the PS5 logo. Straight to PS5 it goes. It may come to PC soon after, as with Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade was released shortly after the PS4/PS5 versions.
