    Nintendo brings a blockbuster E32021

After the slow kickoff by Geoff Keighley, and lukewarm E3 presentations done by a few companies, like Gearbox, and Ubisoft, the only silver lining so far was Microsoft with their “game announcements, after game announcements” presentation in a joint conference with Bethesda. Well, it seems that trend continues with Square Enix and Capcom. Today, Nintendo held their own livestream in the form of a major Nintendo Direct, and it was a livestream full of blockbuster announcements…

It starts off with an update to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and has highs and lows until Metroid Dread was announced. A new Mario Party game was announced, a new Life is Strange game was announced, a new Super Monkey Ball game was announced, they also announced two Advanced Wars remakes coming to Nintendo Switch. They closed out the show with release dates for Zelda: Skyward Sword HD, and Zelda: Breath of the Wild “2.” Skyward Sword is coming out on July 16, 2021. Breath of the Wild 2 (probably working title) is penciled and aiming for a 2022 release window.

    Battlefield 2042 Multiplayer revealed

Before E32021 kicked off, Electronic Arts and DICE unveiled their next Battlefield title: Battlefield 2042. The critical reception of the reveal trailer were mostly positive, that DICE has a momentum to jump off of. The next subject they wanted to know about – is there gameplay? How is the game like? Is multiplayer alive and well? All of it was answered during the joint conference by Microsoft and Bethesda.

DICE did a livestream going in-depth with Battlefield 2042. Oskar Gabrielson, Daniel Berlin, and other DICE team members joined the livestream to talk about the game…

Battlefield 2042 is scheduled to be released for Current Gen, and Next Gen consoles and PC on October 22, 2021.

Square Enix and Capcom had poor E3 showings

After the slow kickoff by Geoff Keighley, and lukewarm E3 presentations done by a few companies, like Gearbox, and Ubisoft, the only silver lining so far was Microsoft with their “game announcements, after game announcements” presentation in a joint conference with Bethesda. Well, it seems that trend continues with Square Enix. Their livestream in a recap is full of Mobile game announcements, and some of them are DLC’s for games we already have available now….

Capcom sort-of followed suit, except there’s at least one game announcement that is at least “new.” The first announcement was a spin-off of Monster Hunter – the new game is called “Monster Hunter Stories 2.” For those of you who is not familiar with Monster Hunter Stories, it originally released for Nintendo 3DS, iOS, and Android. Monster Hunter Stories 2 is coming to Nintendo Switch, and PC. The next announcement is The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles, which is a game that has never been released outside of Japan, until now. It’s being released for PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. It’s available for Nintendo 3DS, iOS, and Android, if you can find it….

  • UbiSoft put “Forward” a sneaky surprise or two

UbiSoft put “Forward” a sneaky surprise or two

It has been a while since Ubisoft last did a livestream for any one of their games. Their last big release (or shall I say, sleeper smash hit) was Immortals Fenyx Rising, which was released for every imaginable platform on the market today: PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch consoles, Google Stadia, and Amazon Luna. Their big release(s) were also Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, and Watch Dogs: Legion. Well, Ubisoft is back with a new Ubisoft Forward livestream…

The livestream starts off slow, but picks up at the end of the livestream, where they revealed two blockbusters: A sequel to Mario + Rabbids, that originally released on Nintendo Switch. It was a collaborative game between Ubisoft and Shigeru Miyamoto. The second game reveal was deemed as a tech demo for Massive Entertainment’s new version of the SnowDrop engine, which debuted as “The Division” game. The new footage wasn’t a game announcement for a new “The Division” game, but instead an “Avatar” game. Avatar was a film released in 2009 by James Cameron. The new Avatar demo was revealed as an actual game… “Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.”

As of right now, E32021 is on-going, and will continue to progress in the following days. Here is Gearbox’s E32021 livestream…

The character then graduated into his own comic – Turok, Son of Stone in 1956. In 1997, Turok: Dinosaur Hunter was released for Nintendo 64, spawned a few sequels, and a spin-off. NightDive Studios picked up the mantle, and remastered Turok: Dinosaur Hunter for Nintendo Switch, and Turok 2: Seeds of Evil for Nintendo Switch…

  • Ninja Gaiden Master Collection is coming in June

Ninja Gaiden Master Collection is coming in June

One of the biggest announcements that came out of the Nintendo Direct livestream on February 17, 2021 – was a rumor that came true in the form of a collection of 3 games from the Ninja Gaiden series. Ninja Gaiden originally released in 1988 as an arcade game. A year later, it was released for NES as a completely different game from the beat ’em up gameplay. It was received so well, it greenlit a sequel. It was an action-platformer game that you would have to clear stages, and it increasingly got hard. Ninja Gaiden has become an action icon, that still to this day, there are still speedruns of the original NES game. One player even completed the game without taking any hit. Which was deemed impossible until now, because of how difficult the original Ninja Gaiden NES game was.

Ninja Gaiden was revived in 2004, and was an Xbox exclusive. It was later ported to PlayStation 3 as “Ninja Gaiden Sigma.” Ninja Gaiden II was released in 2008, and was also an Xbox 360 exclusive. It was later ported to PlayStation 3 as “Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2.” Ninja Gaiden 3 was released for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and updated for Wii U as Razor’s Edge in 2012 and 2013 respectively. During the Feb 17th Nintendo Direct, Koei Tecmo announced “Master Collection,” which would include Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, and Ninja Gaiden 3 Razor’s Edge. Not everyone’s happy, and understandably so, because the Sigma games, while were ports, it altered some of the original’s designs or design philosophy. Which includes censored violence (the original games were gory, F.Y.I.)

Ninja Gaiden Master Collection arrives to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on June 10, 2021.

New Outbreak mode arrives to Black Ops Cold War soon

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War was released on November 13, 2020. The big story wasn’t the release of Black Ops Cold War anymore. The big story was the integration of Modern Warfare and Black Ops Cold War into Call of Duty: Warzone. That’s how Black Ops Cold War’s Season One update kicked off. There was a refresh of Season One, and now Activision is teasing, albeit a bit slower. Activision released a new trailer to their YouTube channel on February 16, 2021. Shortly thereafter, on February 18, 2021 – both Activision and Treyarch released a new trailer, and it was a gameplay showcase of the new Season Two update.

After the release of Black Ops Cold War’s Season Two cinematic trailer, and gameplay trailer, Activision and Treyarch released a new trailer to their official Call of Duty channel to reveal “Outbreak.” The new Zombies mode will allow for co-op play between friends, and will take you through portals to outrun the hordes of zombies…
