Lost Planet has been a series that has a following of it’s own, but is faced with acceptance from critics, fans, and newcomers alike. The displeasure have more to do with the various problems in Lost Planet and it’s sequel, Lost Planet 2. The first game suffered a lot of development problems and it showed. Lost Planet 2 fixed a lot of the problems in the original, but then Capcom made a few bad decisions here and there, including the idea of a save point in long distances or areas, making it hard for you to stop and return later. It’s either you finish the area, or not at all. Which is a shame because I felt that the game had some promise. I previewed the game at E32009 and it was awesome from what I played. Well, it looks like Capcom isn’t giving up on the series, at all. I commend them for that. You’re going back into stormy, ice-cold planet once again, and this time you’re not alone!
I hope it’s good this time around, and it’s shaping up nicely.
Dead Space was a survival horror game that sold so well, that Electronic Arts gave a green light to a sequel for the game. Isaac Clarke returns with an attitude. He brings with him a new weapon, and new moves. He can now float in the airspace. A race full of species known as Necromorph is hell bent on invading a space station – we do not know much at this time, but rest assured, they’re in masses, and they come in groups. Trailer’s below:

Without further ado, the teaser trailer for the game:
The game arrives on Xbox 360, PC, and PS3 in March of 2011!
When you’re marketing a product, you’re supposed to look at things from many perspectives. A brand perception isn’t a one-way street when it comes to how people react to how companies execute their marketing scheme. And the latest marketing stunt by an advertising company is a reminder that you must do things thoroughly, instead of just waltzing out there and “doing it.”
UbiSoft, developers of the Splinter Cell contracted Monaco Corporation to market Splinter Cell: Conviction, when they in turn hired yet, another marketing firm to do the job. What? Monaco Corporation can’t pull a marketing stunt of their own? What game promoter contracts out another marketing firm to do the job for them?
Nonetheless, the actor that the marketing firm hired was dressed as Sam Fisher in his signature stealth suit. The actor arrived at a bar called “Degree” and decides to pull out a fake pistol pointed at the Degree patrons. The customers were drinking outside of the bar when he pulled the gun out. When he did, the customers were diving into tables for cover, yelled out “he’s got a gun!” Which in turn scared the other patrons inside the bar. (Source)
This is NOT the way to do it, Monaco! Your marketing firm should have done the following, to ensure that the cops don’t come out pointing guns at your actor. The better way to do it would have been:
– Talking to the Degree Bar owners or managers about staging a marketing event. This includes whatever you want. You can even bring out the same actor and dress you used in the first place.
– Place a banner of Splinter Cell: Conviction across the bar, while doing the same stunt you wanted to do in the first place. It would have given the “Ah-ha.” feeling when they look around.
Splinter Cell: Conviction is an Xbox 360 exclusive slated to be released on April 13th, 2010. So, its out on store shelves as you read this. Don’t forget, if you buy the game, you get exclusive beta invitation to Future Soldier.

Its been 22 years since Blaster Master debuted on NES, it had only two sequels and two spinoffs. Blaster Master 2 was released for genesis, Master Blaster Boy for GameBoy, and finally, the last release was Blaster Master: Blasting Again for PlayStation. Overdrive is a crossover between a re-make and a direct sequel to the original Blaster Master, as the story takes place in the original’s storyline.
So far, we know that Sunsoft was recently incorporated to bring classics back to life. Blaster Master is one of them. Here‘s a post where the surprise announcement was started. In their words Blaster Master Overdrive is:
Halfway between both, more like a re-imagining. I would have liked to restore the Meta Fight storyline, but this was already pretty far along when I came on. It’s based on the original US storyline, but some things are changed. For example, the hero (Alexander/Alex) in this one is an adult trying to save his family…AND MANKIND. Mix of old and new mutants, mix of similar and new bosses, somewhat different ending.
SUNSOFT, a division of SUNCORPORATION (JASDAQ: 6736), has today announced that BLASTER MASTER:OVERDRIVE will be available in North America on February 8th for WiiWare.
BLASTER MASTER:OVERDRIVE is an action-shooting game that takes place on an Earth infected by an aggressive, polymorphic virus. Poor, defenseless animals worldwide infected by the virus have been turned into flesh-eating, hemoglobin-swilling terrors. Fortunately, the world has Alex. And, even more coincidentally, he happens to be one of the world’s foremost biologists – specializing in viral mutation profiles and genetic manipulation.
Every studious biologist facing imminent global annihilation needs a sweet ride, and Alex is no exception. He has S.O.P.H.I.A., a shape-shifting, gas-guzzling, projectile-spewing paean to destruction on four wheels. Things look grim, but with Alex and S.O.P.H.I.A. on the case, the world just may have a chance.
Gameplay in BLASTER MASTER:OVERDRIVE retains the critically acclaimed format of the original NES BLASTER MASTER, alternating between side-scrolling platforming in S.O.P.H.I.A. and overhead-perspective blasting and exploration when controlling Alex. Upgrades for S.O.P.H.I.A. must be collected to access progressively more challenging terrain and a total of eight distinct areas. Each area features a mutant boss that must be defeated to progress.
The sublime blend of side-scrolling shooting/platforming mixed with overhead perspective action/shooting areas is just as addictive now as it was in the original game. The game is rated E10 for Mild Fantasy Violence and can be purchased from the Wii Store online for 1000 Wii points beginning February 8th, 2010.
As with the BLASTER MASTER NES Virtual Console release, fans are encouraged to improve their skills completing this game so they can compete and win in a coming promotion that will test their skill for collectible prizes.

After Burner has seen a few games in its lifetime, starting from arcades to Sega Genesis. There were only three games for the series. Until 2006, when Sega-AM2 developed After Burner Climax for Sega’s Lindbergh arcade hardware. Yes, same name, same game. Climax for PSN and XBLA is a straight port of the same name, only adding a few more features, and upgrades in some areas of the game.
I enjoyed After Burner’s fast, furious, action-packed – hell I even enjoyed sitting in its innovative cockpit arcade cabinet. Too bad I couldn’t play it all the time because the game sucked up 4 freakin’ quarters EACH time! Well, except for when that “Game Over” screen comes up, which cost 1 quarter a screen. I still enjoyed it.
Here’s the information we have so far about After Burner Climax, which is scheduled to be released in the spring:
