    Activision Partners with Astro Gaming for Black Ops 3 Headset

    Activision has announced a partnership with Astro Gaming to bring gamers the official headset for Black Ops 3. At the moment, very few details are known about the headset but all will be revealed at PAX Prime in Seattle, US, towards the end of August. Activision and Astro have previously collaborated for the official Black Ops 2 headset back in 2012.

    Astro’s official statement:

    As we prepare to unveil a new evolution in ASTRO Gaming professional audio equipment, we’re honored to be working with Call of Duty, the leading console eSports franchise worldwide, and of course one of the biggest gaming entertainment properties in history,” said Aron Drayer, VP of Marketing, ASTRO Gaming. “eSports has grown dramatically over the last 5 years, and with it the needs of the athletes has also evolved. Our new products will redefine expectations of what Pro really means. We will be working closely to spread the message about our new products to all consumers, while simultaneously helping to grow awareness of the eSports lifestyle overall, including competing, spectating and streaming

    The Black Ops 3 beta was released yesterday for PS4, and in the near future for Xbox One and PC. 8 out of 9 specialists have been revealed so far and below are the combat levels needed to unlock them.

    • Prophet – Unlocked from Start
    • Outrider – Unlocked from Start
    • Ruin – Unlocked from Start
    • Battery – Unlocked from Start
    • Seraph – Level 22
    • Nomad – Level 28
    • Reaper – Level 34
    • Spectre – Level 40

    Currently you can level up to a maximum of 28.

    The Black Ops 3 Beta only features multiplayer mode, there will be no Zombies or Campaign to try. You will have to wait until the official release in November!

    There will be three maps included in the Beta, Hunted, Combine and Evac – you can find out more information on these maps here.

Each of them has both a unique weapon and a unique ability, but players can only choose one to use during each match. The chosen weapon or ability becomes usable for a short time after the player fills up their power meter; the power meter is filled up automatically over time, but fills up faster through earning score. Players also can only use one Specialist per match; Specialist selection is done before starting a match. There are nine Specialists, eight of which have been confirmed.

    The Black Ops 3 Paint Shop is only available for Next Gen consoles. It allows the player to create weapon camouflages using up to 64 layers.

    The beta is capped at level 28 at the start but will increase as the beta progresses.

    Activision unveiled the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 trailer this morning. The trailer reveals new gameplay mechanics not found in previous Call of Duty titles. In addition to shooting, you can now thrust jump, punch opponents, wall run, or wall jump, slide, and more.

    Much like Black Ops 2, Black Ops 3 takes place in the future, the year 2060. Black Ops 3 takes place 35 years after the events of Black Ops 2. New technologies have been developed to make air superiority useless, and much of the new tech is centered around integrated systems. These integrated systems include enhanced limbs, and more control over their physiology. Your job is to find out why the CIA site in Singapore is no longer on the grid, but what happens next becomes a bigger problem: The largest intelligence leak in military history.

    What we know so far:

    – Black Ops 3 heads to retail shelves on November 6th, a Friday.
    – Will only be released to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
    – No Xbox branding on trailers leads many to believe that PlayStation 4 is the lead console this time.
    – Pre-Order BO3, and you gain access to the Multiplayer Beta.
    – The beta will take place after Gamescom, so the duration of the beta will be 1 or 2 months.
    – Zombies will make a return, and it looks nasty from the looks of things from posteers.
