  • Blair Witch arrives to PS4 in December

Blair Witch arrives to PS4 in December

Blair Witch was recently released for Xbox One and PC at the end of August. It has been received a mixed bag of reactions from critics, and fans alike. Some like it, some don’t. To each their own. Blair Witch was only available for Xbox One and PC, until now. Bloober Team and LionsGate announced that Blair Witch is coming to PlayStation 4. Both companies sent out a press release, and Bloober Team released a trailer hyping up the announcement…

Bloober Team and Lionsgate Announce Blair Witch For PlayStation 4

Release of New Enhanced Version Includes New Ways to Personalize Your Very Own ‘Bullet’ K-9 Companion

KRAKOW, POLAND – November 19, 2019 – Today, Bloober Team, the creative minds behind the critically acclaimed Layers of Fear games, in partnership with global content leader Lionsgate (NYSE: LGF.A, LGF.B), call you back to the woods with the upcoming release of Blair Witch on the PlayStation 4. Earlier this fall, this psychologically frightening return to the Black Hills Forest, known to host the iconic Blair Witch horror, reminded us of the gut-wrenching fear felt with the film series and can now be downloaded digitally via the PlayStation Store for $29.90 USD starting on December 3, 2019.

The updated Blair Witch, which will first be available for digital download and later via physical retail versions, will include gameplay and technical enhancements. Additionally, players will now be able to customize their canine companion in various ways to make Bullet their personal “good boy” with the addition of the appropriately named “Good Boy Pack”; which will include new dog skins; new in-game cellphone games, wallpapers, and content; and new animations for Bullet – making him even more realistic. The “Good Boy Pack” will also be available on PC via Steam and the Xbox One family of devices including the Xbox One X via the Xbox Games Store and Xbox Game Pass.

Blair Witch offers fans, and players alike, their own descent into madness through an original story inspired by Lionsgate’s iconic Blair Witch. Set in 1996, a young boy disappears in the Black Hills Forest near Burkittsville, Maryland. Players experience the horror as Ellis, a former police officer with a troubled past, accompanied by his trustful canine companion, Bullet. Their story starts as they join the search for the missing boy, but players shortly discover the horrors that await as the woods twist and turn into an endless nightmare. Ellis will have to confront his fears, and his past, along with the mysterious force that haunts the woods.

The first-person experience studies players’ reactions to the many dangers, stresses and tolls that the original story delivers, and results in one of various potential playthroughs. In addition to the horrifying psychological experience, there is a balanced display of the beautiful environments showcased in full in-game 4K; tricking adventurers to feel a sense of relief before venturing even deeper into the home of the iconic Blair Witch. Blair Witch is enhanced for 4K gameplay on Xbox One X and supported PCs via Steam, and will also be supported via PS4 Pro upon its digital release.

  • Sonic the Hedgehog gets new trailer

Sonic the Hedgehog gets new trailer

On April 30th of this year, Paramount Pictures and SEGA unveiled the trailer for Sonic’s live-action film, called simply “Sonic the Hedgehog.” Websites list it as “Sonic the Hedgehog The Movie” to differentiate the film from the games themselves. There were some TV shows with the exact same name, sooo… websites, media outlets, blogs and other media had to use the “movie” distinction.

When the first trailer hit the internet, people didn’t like the look of Sonic, claiming the film put Sonic in a creepy light. It was universally agreed that the Sonic 3D model was far from the source material. Here’s an image of the original Sonic Movie design….

…Compare it to the source material…

Most of the character model’s design was close enough, but the eyes, the mouth, and the arms look out of place against the source material. You can get away with making his arm blue, but the rest of the design was creepy for some. After the backlash, Paramount delayed the release of Sonic The Movie from November, to February 14th, 2020 – Valentine’s Day. After testing out the market with a leaked image of the new design, Paramount released the official trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog: The Movie….

The film stars Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik, while Sonic will be voiced by Ben Schwartz. In the film, Sonic befriends a police officer of Green Hills. Not much of the story has been revealed, but this is loosely based on the Sonic games, so we can expect Dr. Robotnik to be up to no good again.

  • Overwatch 2 Revealed

    Overwatch 2 Revealed

Overwatch has been in a sort of a hot seat, during the hubbub about the controversy surrounding the Blizzard protests. Long story short, a Hearthstone player was banned for his views on the Hong Kong protests. There are a few stories that are related to this, and one of them was the cancellation of the launch party for the Nintendo Switch version of Overwatch in New York. (Overwatch was released for Nintendo Switch on October 15, 2019.) At Blizzcon 2019, not only did Blizzard reveal Diablo 4, they also revealed Overwatch 2.

Blizzard describes Overwatch 2 as a “shared” experience, where you can move your character from the original Overwatch, to the new Overwatch 2. What it sounds like, is Overwatch 2 is an updated version of Overwatch, with upgrades, which is possibly the reason why they’re making it easy to transfer your character. So, whatever you’ve done in Overwatch, may possibly be available on Overwatch 2, so you don’t have to re-do your character grind (leveling up). Not much else was revealed about Overwatch 2 at this time.

  • Diablo IV Revealed

    Diablo IV Revealed

Blizzard opened Blizzcon 2019 with two big announcements. The first announcement has been rumored for a while now. There were leaks about a possible “Diablo 4,” and it was supposed to be revealed at Blizzcon 2018. But it was forego’ed in favor of a mobile game called “Diablo Immortal.” It was said that the development of Diablo 4 had come to several issues, it was said that it was originally panned out to be a “Dark Souls” type of game where you’d have some kind of challenge with enemies or bosses. It was designed in third person, even. Fans would not take that change with open arms. So, they went back to the drawing board, and not only delayed the announcement of Diablo 4, they also announced the Diablo mobile game as “Diablo Immortal.” As predicted – there was a lot of fan backlash, a lot of controversy. The Blizzard employees responded with PR statements, saying that Diablo Immortal wasn’t the only “Diablo” game in development.

That out of the way… At Blizzcon 2019, Blizzard officially announced Diablo IV, with a reveal…

We don’t know much about the game, other than that according to Luis Barriga, the game is going back to the series’ darker roots. Diablo III was a good game, but it was rough in some places; Gameplay-wise, the game was a little “easy,” the story was a bit bare, was not up to series’ legacy, and it removed a lot of the darker themes that the series was known for. You see that has been rectified with the new trailer of Diablo IV.

Diablo IV is being developed for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

  • Death Stranding Launch Trailer released

    Death Stranding Launch Trailer released

Death Stranding was announced and revealed at E3 2019, and since then, Hideo Kojima has been very cryptic with his hints, teasing, and interviews for years. Hideo Kojima’s games has always been about picking part what everything means, and what is what. His games are just so strange, and so mysterious, which adds to the mystique of his games. Kojima has a habit of not just making his games mysterious, he also has a habit of making his games cinematic, as well. Well, Death Stranding is coming out soon (November 8, 2019 to be exact), and Kojima Productions released the launch trailer for Death Stranding…

In September, Kojima Productions released a briefing trailer to show off not only a snippet of the story, but also how beautiful the graphics are, and how cinematic the game is…
