Final State of Play of 2019 reveals new games

After Sony’s previous State of Play, PlayStation fans has been waiting for more information on some key release dates. With The Game Awards looming ahead, fans have been getting some leaks, and were expecting them to be revealed at The Game Awards, but Sony announced a new State of Play scheduled for today. This morning, Sony hosted that livestream, which featured some updates, and announcements…

The games and updates revealed on December 10th edition of State of Play are…

  • Spellbreak
  • Dreams
  • Superliminal
  • Paper Beast
  • Kingdom Hearts III Re-Mind
  • Predator Hunting Grounds
  • Babylon’s Fall
  • Resident Evil 3 (Remake) with Project Resistance
  • Ken Kutaragi celebrates the 25th Anniversary of “PlayStation”
  • Ghost of Tsushima

Sony ended the State of Play presentation by saying you can see the rest of the Ghost Tsushima trailer at The Game Awards event on December 12th. [Full info here.] Untitled Goose Game is out December 17th. Spellbreak is coming in Spring 2020. Dreams has been anticipated by many fans, and is slated for a February 14, 2020 which is Valentine’s Day. Superliminal does not have a firm release date, but they said it’d be out in 2020. Paper Beast does not have a firm release date, but they said it’ll be out early 2020. Kingdom Hearts III Re-Mind is a full-scale expansion coming out on January 23, 2020. Predator Hunting Grounds arrives April 24, 2020. Babylon’s Fall, a Platinum Games title is in development, but more information is to be revealed next Summer. Keep in mind, E3 is an event in June.

The biggest announcement was the reveal of Capcom’s new Resident Evil game. What originally was thought to be Project Resistance, turned into a full reveal of Resident Evil 3 Remake. Project Resistance is a multiplayer experience and will be bundled with Resident Evil 3 Renake. Both will be released April 3, 2020.

The Game Awards 2019 begins December 12th at 8:30 PM ET / 5:30 PM PT in 4K.
