As I write this, QuakeCon is ongoing. It started yesterday, but the keynote for “The year of Doom” just wrapped up. The biggest surprise from the event was a stealth drop: The original Doom, Doom II, and Doom 3 was announced for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices such as Android devices, and iOS devices. Doom is currently celebrating its 25th anniversary, so this re-release marks that celebration.
Doom Eternal had some gameplay shown at the event, but we’ll see more from QuakeCon as the event rolls on over the weekend.
