First Modern Warfare Multiplayer info revealed at E3 2019

Yesterday, during E3 2019, Infinity Ward has held several panels. One of them was a E32019 Coliseum panel. Geoff Keighley was the host of the panel – he recorded, and livestreamed the event to his channel. It was a Q&A session between Geoff and some of the team members at Infinity Ward.

Infinity Ward spent a lot of time to talk about the single player story campaign in Call of Duty. They delved a little into the story, a lot that we don’t know about the characters, but the most important part of the panel was Multiplayer. Everyone wants to know about multiplayer.

Since the reveal of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, there has been whispers, and speculation about whether this is a Cross-Play title, like Fortnite is currently. We got a vague confirmation of Cross-Play from the current Community Manager of Infinity Ward, but that’s about it. That changed with the interview here: Cross Play is coming, but Infinity Ward was trying to be very careful as to how they say about “Cross-Play.” Infinity Ward said that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare isn’t a “modal” game. It’s seamless, throughout the whole game. Furthermore, they confirmed that Cross Play is between Xbox, PlayStation, and PC. However, they’ve also made it clear that this game is in alpha, so they’re still testing the waters when it regards this seamless multiplayer experience, this cross-play experience.

This was the first Multiplayer image they showed off, and they said that the cloth will move as you move. It’s not going to be static movements, like in the past Call of Duty games, including COD4: Modern Warfare, or the remaster. It will seem as if it’s real.

The second image shows off the first look at Juggernaut in Modern Warfare. Infinity Ward says that Juggernaut from MW2’s Spec Ops is in the game, but again, this is not a modal game. You play this Juggernaut as part of the world Modern Warfare inhabits. How you trigger this Spec Ops character or other similar characters in Multiplayer has not been revealed, so we don’t know if this is an Operator, or a Killstreak.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare arrives to retail stores worldwide on October 25, 2019 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Battle.net
