Modern Warfare 3′s seventh Elite Drop is a good entry.

As Activision and co. counts down to the final MW3 Content Drops, and getting ready for the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, they sure have been really busy. Microsoft has been reaping their proverbial rewards with their contract regarding these Content Drops. In any case, with Chaos Pack heading to PS3 and PC players soon, I got hands on with a small Content Drop comprised of Spec Ops missions, and the new Spec Ops Chaos Mode. Without further ado…

Light ‘em Up (Spec Ops Mission): Grenade launcher lovers will love this mission. It’s a glorified n00btube mission. You start out in a helicopter, and you will be tubin’ your launcher to shreds. You will descend at some point and do missions such as gathering intel. You’ll have to fight off the onslaught of enemies to make it through the mission, though. It’s not exactly my cup of tea, but I think whoever designed this mission was trying to feed certain type of player, which is commendable. You don’t exactly see a lot of maps with grenade launchers being the highlight. A refreshing change of scenery, I must say.

Special Delivery (Spec Ops Mission): I think this is among one of the best Spec Ops maps, or missions that has been released thus far. You start out trying to infiltrate a warehouse next to a dam, and you eventually make your way to your comrades. Once you do, you finish the mission. The best part is, you get help from helicopters helping with air drops. If you plan it right, you can have at least 3 sentries shooting at anything that comes through your path while you advance towards the end.

Spec Ops Chaos mode: My god. Why has this mode not been released since Modern Warfare 3 launch? I have a feeling this was a mode that’s been discussed throughout this Content Season. Finally someone woke up and said “Release it!” It just seems like two people were having a conflict of interest in how Spec Ops should’ve been. I have a feeling this is what Robert Bowling was trying to launch since MW3 went on store shelves last November or even earlier.

Let me put it this way, if you put this mode into a single game disc, and this was a real arcade game that you’d find at movie theaters, pizza restaurants, Chuck E’ Cheese or Dave and Busters – you have an Arcade smash hit in your hands. For me, this would replace Zombies. That’s how arcade this mode is. And it’s a wasted opportunity on the part of Activision.

If you’d like to know how I felt about all of the maps that have been released thus far, here they are: First Drops Piazza and Liberation, and Second Drops Overwatch, Black Box, Black Ice, and Negotiator. I have recently released my impressions of the Third Drops Foundation and Sanctuary. Fourth Drops Face Off maps. Fifth Drops U-Turn, Intersection, Vortex, and Arctic Recon. Sixth Drops Terminal, Off Shore, Decommission, and Vertigo.

Stay tuned for the eighth and final Content Drop scheduled to drop for Modern Warfare 3. This is it, folks, Content Season ends in October!
