Tech Vs Monster – A Lost Planet at War!

Capcom is known to have developed some great games, but like some companies – Capcom’s games can be a hit or miss affair. The original Lost Planet and Dark Void were misses.

Capcom has been putting out some episodic trailers to tide us over with regards to Lost Planet as it will be released in May. Quite the long wait for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC owners. One of the best trailers to come out of Capcom’s HQ is below:

My time with Lost Planet 2 at E32009 had me impressed. The recent release of LP2 Co-Op demo reinforced my first impressions – its awesome. Capcom isn’t known to have some of the most epic games made. Looks like Lost Planet 2 is set to break that mold. One of the complaints that the original Lost Planet had was the fact that it was always in snow, this has been fixed. There is a lot of variety in locations.

    New Lost Planet 2 Trailer!

Capcom has been on a roll lately, they just released Dark Void a few days ago, and they’re about to release Lost Planet 2 across mutiple platforms. The game was supposed to be released early 2010 – February to be precise, it is now scheduled to release on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC this april, with no definite date penned.

Regardless, Capcom has released a trailer to tide us over:

The game has been broken into episodes, so you’ll see different locals that are different – one episode is a stage that I have already played before at E32009 – this is a monster that seems like a giant salamander. If you get eaten by this salamander – its a whole new level. I can’t wait to get Lost Planet 2 because it is that damn good. Hell, playing the demo on PS3 recently solidifies my first impressions of LP2.

Capcom had a small booth this year, but you couldn’t miss the booth, no matter where you stood. Capcom sure knows how to be noticed and attract them all the same. I was attending E32009 as media this year and was able to be playing most of the games in Capcom’s list.

Marvel vs Capcom 2 (PS3 and Xbox 360) – Capcom did more than just a port, they upgraded the game to fix the issues that were found in the PS2 version, and re-did the graphics to fit into the HD-era. And, boy, it looks gorgeous. Its coming soon, so you’ll be able to play this. Surprisingly, there are a few that would play this. I was looking for a challenge, and I won, but then I lost to another dude. Dam.

Tatsunoko vs Capcom (Wii) – This game was hogged by many players during the time I was there; everyone wanted to play. And since it was new to me, I was going like “whoa” and other words – some moves were new to me, like Chun Li’s super kicks. Get this, you can do it in the air, too. What amazed me, was that some players knew how to play. It was nice watching you guys play, boys. Especially that tall african dude.

Lost Planet 2 (Multiplatform) – Game of the Booth – I think this is the best thing that was displayed at E3 by Capcom. They really fixed a lot of the issues many people had, and many of the issues I didn’t like, at all, either. Co-Op is highly featured in this game, and that’s just crazy more than 4 players Co Op? SIGN ME UP! I’m getting this the day its out. I hope its online.

Dark Void (Multiplatform) – One of the most confusing games on the show floor.

Editor’s Note: This is a recap of a post at Capcom-Unity.com.

I will post the images when I get home. I will also, in the next few days post impressions of Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, Dark Void, MAG, God of War 3, Tekken 6, Split Second. After that, I will begin testing the waters on creating new videos (sorry, no videos from E3 this year, next year I will be more prepared for that).
