PSVita Would you buy an upgraded version of PSV?

i would probably trade in my old ps vita for the new version, but i probably wouldnt wate till they anounce the new version

i would wait for the vita for sometime just to make sure its completely worth it although i'm pretty much its gonna be but i'll surely not wait for the newer version
1) because the base model has pretty much everything we need now
2) all the future games for this console is gonna be made from the 1st model so it doesn't matter if you take it as a whole!
3) the newer version will take at least 2-3 yrs to come and i doubt they'll make any major changes in it!!

A slide mechanism won't work with the back touch pad.. I had a PSP Go and my hands cramped after a couple hours of gametime, so I prefer the oldskool design like the PSP 1000/2000/3000 and the current PS Vita. I'm not sure Sony will release a revision as quick as Nintendo will, because to me it seems like they're doing everything right. Even the buttons seem to be placed the way they should.

And they sure as hell won't release a better screen, because from what we've all read that screen makes your jaw drop to the floor!

It could work if they moved the touch pad to the back part of the main screen that slides up. Would be akward and most likely won't happen but it could lol.

ha ha..... if that were the case each time we slided the screen the back touch would touch somewhere and in a few months we could say good bye to the back touch!!

yeah but certain people just like the slider design of the pspgo over the original design. who knows. sony will find something.

anyone of you thats gonna wait a few months are just crazy. all those games coming out are just plain awesome and should be purchased and played at day one. also. look at how long they've been working on the vita. since the released of the psp in 2005. thats six years man. in a time like that you can easily make a perfect computer that is completely in harmony with all its components. they develop this alienware pc's in 1.5 year so the vita has been worked on more than twice as long and with a bigger team so i think the first model will be pretty near perfect. oh and you shouldn't wait for any good games to come out since they allready are. all these psp games can be played on vita as well so it allready has a decent library availible before launch. and then you get uncharted, little big planet, monster hunter, ruin, metal gear solid 2, 3 ,zoe, peace walker, and all new kojima games so why wait a few MORE months...

It makes sense to wait and here is why. A perfect example, the iPhone 4. 4th generation of a product and there was a glaring oversight with the antenna if you had a finger in a certain spot. Caused mass problems from the get go. They evetually corrected the problem but what if Vita had some touch scree/ touch pad issue from the start. Those that wait would not have to deal with the pain of all that.

Some people aren't as excited as us, or are just interested. The PSP in the US did ok in sales but not like Europe or Japan, so people might still be hesitant as well to see how things pan out for it.

I hope they don't go to the apple path....
If they do, then I will be very disappointed. I have learned with selling my PSP fat for the PSP slim, that it isn't worth it.

I started with the PSP slim and then got the Go. Like almost every console I am sure Sony will make a v2 of the Vita, but to be honest from the stats, to the layout they might hit it on the head from the start. However, every revamp of every console always spikes sales #'s.

But the thing that got me was the PSPs upgrade from 2000 to 3000 were lame. Apart from a different ring at the back and some slightly different buttons, I couldn't really see why anyone would spend money upgrading to it like people upgraded to the Go.

I agree with you on the 2000 to 3000 update, maybe it was a "cost savings" update, not sure. I got a Go because i didn't have my 2000 anymore (dumb move!) and i got it for $100 if i remember right. If the Go had a UMD trade-in program, all games supported on PSN then it would have had a real chance.

I kind of feel that Sony was already far into production with the Vita and just let the Go fall. Not sure really why it was created, Sony sometimes makes interesting electronics or upgrades that don't make as much sense.

I think the GO was a good excuse to make developers and publishers release full retail games on PSN to get ready for the launch of VITA and switch from UMD to Flash Cart and Download. They want as much retail PSP games online so people wont feel neglected and will be able to buy those games and play on VITA instead of just VITA games. There are so many PSP games i would definitely buy and play on VITA.

yeah but they haven't been working six years on iphone 4, they developed that phone in a year or so. the vita has been developed and tested for 6 years since psp came out. so i dont think there will be any annoying glitches

We can hope but things always slip through the cracks. Remember, Sony will out-source or most likely use the lowest bidder for production so if there is manufacturing problem (remember Xbox 360 launch) they can't always realize that.

I will buy the vita on day one. I might even import it. I can live with a few annoyances though i don't think there will be any big ones since a lot of developers have been making and testing games on the system

I wouldn't mind if they upgrade one in about 2 years. It's alright if they upgrade it to keep up with latest technology, but what apple do is they purposely miss out on features so that the next year they can add them.
