Yeah; we knew Cap was working on an updated version of portable 3rd. Maybe they'll show it today. The question is why portable 3rd again rather than 3rd G with new content and what's the fate of four/portable fourth and Vita.

So 3DS is getting 2 monster hunter games and we get nothing. no wonder capcom's stocks fell, they only seem to be supporting the vita with fighting games. Give us a new monster hunter, it sucks that MHP3 is still not available on psp in oz.

It will happen. May take a big fat check written out to Capcom, but it's only a matter of time.

I rather have them place that big fat check on another uncharted journey for the vita with multiplayer by naughty dogs. instead of going towards a useless monster hunter.

i agree the only reason [some not all people] want monster hunter is to see why the japanese like it so much it doesn't really interest me

I agree with these! We have to move on and believe me when I say there will be a lot of MH clone coming to Vita and maybe one or two of them will be successful plus Ragnarok Oddyssey looks promising,

I think that sony needs to stab capcom hard with not pushing any monster hunter out on there platform, unless THEY pay a big fat check for what they did towards sony. And thats high likely going to happen.

Monster hunter got big on the PSP. Even the investors of capcom are boggled with the fact that they did what they did. Even they think that there simple isn't a player base interested in the game on the 3DS other then probably a million people.

Its therefor high likely that the 3DS versions are not going to sell a whole lot on top of it.

They basically traded there flag ship sales from a platform that did extraordinairy well towards a platform that is totally unknown.

Good luck murdering your own franchise lol.

Anyway, i always though that monster hunter really isn't that of a big deal. the game was only interesting through having a bg like setup on a handheld. Mmo's will take care of that on the vita.

And lets be real, in 5 years we are still stuck with ps2 assets of the game with a slighty upgraded version of it.

I rather have sony push big money on games that actually matter for this time.

I do think that monster hunter basically killed itself with this move tho. Its probably never going to push more then average numbers.

Yeah I agree and like Yoshinori Ono said @ sony keynote, it' causes an uproar and why not since MH became very famous on the PSP. I hope Japanese peeps won't support this move by Capcom.

There is nothing really from Sony's TGS that will make up for the loss of MH franchise. It's not like Sony's announcements sucks it's actually very much impressive and much better than nintendo but losing it's best selling game really hurts. Not even FFXHD, MGSHD, ZOE HD, UMVC3, NinjaGaidenSigma etc. (even though they are ports they are some of the best games of all time) can't make up for MH sales.

And like you said, I too am not impressed with MH for the 3ds. The visuals are almost like the MHP from 2005 just with 3d and it will be stuck there until MH is ready to move in terms of graphics.

So shame on you Capcom. If I can only compile EVERY message post by nintendo fans in all forums all over the internet that bashed and hated your MH franchise on the PSP, You would definitely reconsider.

That's a bummer; I've never played any of the MonHun games myself but Portable 3rd never even released outside of Japan anyway. Lord of Apocalypse and Army Corps of Hell have caught my eye and I'm sure I'll manage without Monster Hunter.

I think that the way of not evolving with a new game system, but rather stay on a older game system to do the exact same is a massive big mistake and it will floor them eventually unless sony allows them to push a game on there platform.

The vita was a perfect device to try something entirely new out with monster hunter to jump towards the next level. but instead they rather play it safe and push it on a PSP+ device.

I think that monster hunter is going to hit a wall after monster hunter 4 is released. I think the game is going to do decently but nowhere near psp numbers. A next version will probably do the exact same as sony gamers moved on towards other games. They will try to walk back towards sony then eventually.

Sony should just cut them off entirely, or basically pay them a hefty amount of cash and a ton of loyalties in order to be even interested in it.

The reason why those investers are worried is that the IP doesn't evolves. It stagnates big time on the 3DS. And investors know this. The height basically is reached with the game and they need another milkcow.

If dragon dogma or whatever the game is called, is going to flop in the west on top of it, they are basically screwed.

If you compare monster hunter 4 vs ragnarok already, you can clearly see how lackbusting monster hunter is already looking graphical whise. And this is exactly what they are going to push out. Sony knows this.

Monster hunter will simple be replaced with another game that becomes big. Every handheld or console always has its software that shines.

And atm if you look at monster hunter 4 and compare it towards ragnarok that is releasing probably even faster. I'm sure that nobody cares eventually.

i don't even get why it's popular. there is no story to it just hours of gameplay. I can do that with any bethesda game + story + better graphics= way better than monster hunter imo. to me it's overrated

Its populair because it basically was the first game where you actually could play with people together and progress on a upgrade your character way through a massive open 3D world enviroment.

No other thing basically provided this portable. Mostly games are incredible shallow or single player orientated.

The game never really became big in the west because it has a unattractive theme. We rather fight with swords and attack castles then living in tents with samurai people lol.

Anyway, like i stated already the game jumped on the right platform at the right time really.

Monster hunter being massively successful on psp doens't mean its going to be succesful this generation.

I like the Monster Hunter games, the trill you get when you take down a monster or cut off a limb is thrilling. Capcom deserve to lose stock value for not announcing a MH game for vita. Everyone has been expecting a new MH game on vita since the NGP was announced at the start of the year with the MHP3 demo. Capcom haven't got a resident evil either, they have only mentioned fighting games.

I hope Ragnarok Odyssey becomes the new Monster Hunter. It looks better in every way and there's a good developer behind it.

And there we go already.

Capcom fighting game and Monster Hunter Frontier Online producer Yoshinori Ono has some issues with Sony regarding the positioning of Street Fighter x Tekken in the first party PlayStation Vita booth.

Via Twitter today, Ono complained that the SF x Tekken kiosks are off the main pathway in Sony's booth. The game isn't even on the guide signs showing the booth's attractions. This is despite Ono having made a lengthy appearance at Sony's press conference yesterday, he noted.
Later in the day, Ono did some dissing of his own.

Ono says he was passing by what he thought was a Monster Hunter stage, but it turned out to be a God Eater 2 stage. That gets two Oh Snaps!
You can keep up with Ono's Tokyo Game Show exploits at Twitter.
Here he is putting the moves on Love Plus girlfriend Rinko (or possibly trying to eat her).

In other words, sony doesn't give a crap anymore about capcom and stabs them back just as hard with there own booth by not even mentioning it towards players and pushed it back into a corner.

Ono gets mad because he did do some efford towards sony and starts to blame clearly monster hunter for this.

Jup thats what you get, it will hit them in the face big time.
