After many years of rumors, speculation, and hype towards a Next Generation Nintendo Switch console, Nintendo made the announcement this morning. It’s not what you think it is. It’s not the “Nintendo Switch Pro” console everyone has been hyping up about. The new Nintendo Switch console is simply a new model in the Nintendo Switch family – the “OLED Model.” Going forward, you can purchase Nintendo Switch which costs $300, Nintendo Switch Lite which costs $200, and/or the new Nintendo Switch OLED Model which costs $350. The Nintendo Switch OLED Model arrives October 8, 2021…
So far, there are 2 SKU’s to launch with the system: White/Grey-ish, and the Black/Red/Blue console (Pictured below). Along with the announcement, Nintendo also revealed the packaging for the new OLED Model system. I think the new design is to distinguish the consoles from Nintendo Switch Lite and the revision Nintendo Switch.
The Nintendo Switch OLED Model arrives worldwide on October 8, 2021 for $349.99 MSRP. All your current Nintendo Switch games will work with Nintendo Switch OLED. It adds more upgrades to the original: A larger 7-inch display, with OLED, an adjustable stand, a built-in LAN port, 64 GB Internal Storage, and Enhanced Audio.
