Infinite Warfare Beta Weekend 2 is open to ALL PS4 players

Infinity Ward held their first of two scheduled Infinite Warfare Beta Weekends. The Infinite Warfare Multiplayer Beta had a few snags, but a snag that dragged on until the next morning. Players couldn’t get into Multiplayer matches in the beta, at all. To rectify the problem, Infinity Ward released a new patch update the very next morning. With the update, Infinity Ward released a few surprises.

Every day you play the beta, you’re likely coming to this screen…

Earlier, I mentioned that there was a patch update. However, there was another update that launched a new map into the map rotation…

Shortly thereafter, Infinity Ward released an update that brought a new game mode: Gun Game. That’s not all, on Sunday morning, Infinity Ward released a new message on Twitter to talk about their new decision: The Infinite Warfare Beta would be extended by a day.

On Tuesday morning, on the eve of the Infinite Warfare Beta’s end, Infinity Ward released new information about Weekend 2. This coming Friday, the Infinite Warfare Beta will now be open to ALL PlayStation 4 owners. No code needed. No pre-order needed. Just pre-load it, wait, and play!

There are only a couple of hours left in the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Beta, and we would like to say thank you to everyone who has participated this past weekend in order to help us stress test the system and fine tune issues ahead of launch day.

The highlight for me has been landing some sweet passes in Defender along with the surprise addition of my favorite mode Gun Game, and hopefully you’ve been having a blast as well. We’ve been listening to your reactions everywhere that we can where you’ve been talking about the Beta, and this experience wouldn’t be possible without you.

Thanks to the extra day that Infinity Ward added to this first weekend, there has already been a ton of action across the Beta, and we’re expecting even more during Weekend # 2. In fact, we have some more good news about that to share with you:

“Thank you to the awesome Call of Duty community and your response to the Beta. We’ve been watching players experiment with different Rigs, all unique to their playstyles, and dig into our new weapon crafting system. We’ve also introduced a new matchmaking system to provide the highest quality matches possible, which the Beta has helped us optimize for launch,” said Joe Cecot, Lead Multiplayer Designer at Infinity Ward.

“The feedback and player data is exactly what we need in order to make our day one experience on November 4 the best it can be in the final game. So much so that we’d like to open the beta up even further starting this Friday for all PS4 players. We are constantly fine tuning and balancing the MP experience to meet player expectations and our design goals, so huge thanks from all of us at the studio.”

That’s right, the second Infinite Warfare Beta weekend is opening up to all PlayStation 4 players, no pre-order needed. The Beta will be available as a free download in the PS Store starting around 11am PDT (6pm GMT) today, so be sure to pre-download the Beta before it starts back up this Friday. Plus, Infinity Ward has even more surprises in store for players, so stay tuned!

The Infinite Warfare Beta Weekend #2 will begin on October 21 at 10am PDT (5pm GMT) and will conclude on October 24 at 10am PDT (5pm GMT). Grab a Combat Rig and we’ll see you there!

Just a reminder, however: During Weekend 2 of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare’s Multiplayer Beta, Xbox One players will get their chance to play the Infinite Warfare Beta.
