Kevin Spacey, a world renowned actor spoke out about his involvement in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. He says that he not only liked working with the folks at Sledgehammer Games, he also liked working with the tech that was available for Advanced Warfare. In his recent interview with Jimmy Fallon on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” Kevin Spacey had this to say about CODAW…
Yeah [answering if he’s a video game fan]. I mean, I haven’t played a lot, I’ve just started to play this one [Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare], but it was an incredible experience to do it. The technology that’s behind it – I think I’m maybe the third actor that’s ever done it, I think Ellen Page and William Defoe did it about five years ago, but now the technology is so incredible that you look at it and it’s like me, only the way we did it was so unlike any other experience I’ve ever had.
I got dressed in this black jumpsuit and I had an helmet with a camera on it photographing my face. And there were about fifty cameras in the studio, but it’s an empty studio – normally, you know, you come to a set that they’ve built and props, but in this case I literally would stand on a box and they would tell me to put my hand on this pull, and then they wanted me to walk down that box and get on the chair and say my line. But I would look over at the monitor where they had already rendered the world to a certain degree and I wasn’t rendered yet, so I was just like a figure in it. But I wasn’t sitting in a box, I was standing in a helicopter, holding its roof and then stepping down to get on a jeep that drives away, and I’m like “WTF?”
