5 years ago, in 2010, Tomonobu Itagaki revealed Devil’s Third for PS3, and Xbox 360. At E32014, it was revealed that Devil’s Third is now an exclusive for Wii U. Nintendo was able to swiftly secure exclusivity, because THQ is now defunct. Originally, Valhalla Game Studios had entered into a partnership with THQ. When THQ closed it’s doors, Mr. Itagaki had to look elsewhere for partnerships, Nintendo obliged. New partnership revealed: Valhalla Game Studios and THQ
Recently, I posted that Devil’s Third was revealed along with the trailer for the game. Here is the official word from THQ and Valhalla Game Studios about their new collaborative effort:
THQ Inc. (NASDAQ: THQI) today announced its ground-breaking partnership with Valhalla Game StudiosTM to publish the studio’s premier videogame title, Devil’s Third, for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system.
From legendary game creator Tomonobu Itagaki and his newly formed Valhalla Game Studios, Devil’s Third is a fast paced action game set in the near future in the wake of a global catastrophe. Tomonobu Itagaki, whose credits include the critically acclaimed Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive franchises, has pledged to deliver an experience like no other, combining a deep storyline with original combat mechanics all set against an atmospheric and explosive backdrop.

Devil’s Third revealed
Tomonobu Itagaki started up a new company called Valhalla Game Studios. Itagaki is a game developer that headed Team Ninja, a division of Tecmo Inc. He developed the modern version of Ninja Gaiden for Xbox, and Xbox 360. He is the creator of Dead or Alive, Tecmo’s answer to Virtua Fighter. Tomonobu Itagaki went ahead and revealed Devil’s Third through GameTrailers video exclusive below:
It is still early in development, so no release date has been determined, however, it is planned to be released for Xbox 360, and PS3. It has a publisher, as well – the company is none other than THQ.
