It has been a few weeks since the Nintendo Direct presentation that was livestreamed on April 2, 2025 – today, we’re going to highlight the biggest announcements from the Nintendo Switch 2 focused Nintendo Direct presentation. In this article, we will just highlight the full livestream, that was deleted after the event ended, and we will also highlight the biggest announcements from the Nintendo Direct presentation.
Nintendo Direct – Nintendo Switch 2 livestream (4/2/2025)
Nintendo Switch 2 Overview
And now, I will highlight the biggest announcements from the event…
Nintendo GameCube is coming to Nintendo Switch Online!
GameChat is embedded into Nintendo Switch 2…
I will now highlight the biggest games from the show. We’ll start with “Welcome Tour” because it’s designed to be a “training simulator” for the console, much in the same way Astro Playroom was for PlayStation 5…
Problem is, this game is not a pack-in game like Astro Playroom was, or Wii Sports. It’s $10 to get it. Sadly.
Next up, is the “Nintendo Switch 2 Edition” games. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom are one of the first 2 games to have this moniker. Nintendo Switch 2 Edition games comes in two forms: The stand-alone Nintendo Switch 2 Edition game comes with the actual game, and the “Virtual Game Card.” They’re also called “key cards.” If you already have either Breath of the Wild or Tears of the Kingdom, you can buy the $10 upgrade patch. There’s a third path, but I’m not sure how it’s going to be handled; if you are a Nintendo Switch Online member, you get the patch for free. How this is going to work long-term is a mystery to me. Does it get removed from your system once your subscription ends? I don’t know.
Hades II (Roman number “2”)
Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition
Final Fantasy VII (Roman number “7”) Remake Intergrade
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
The Duskbloods
What? Duskbloods? Why is this here? Well, its a FromSoftware game. If you don’t know that name, go find Bloodborne on PlayStation 4, Demon Souls on PlayStation 5, or Elden Ring on any platform. Armored Core VI (Roman number “6”) Fires of Rubicon is available on any platform.
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment
Street Fighter 6
