Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War teased

Call of Duty: Warzone has been updated with some easter eggs in recent months. The big one was a mysterious Bunker 11, with a nuke being built. Then a shack near the prison appears… with a keypad. PrestigeIsKey found the passcode to get it opened, but nothing came of it. Recently, Call of Duty pros, YouTubers, Streamers, and content creators received a Mystery Crate from Activision/Treyarch themselves…

If I remember correctly, this Mystery Crate reveal led players into Black Ops 4 in Summit. During this “step,” Treyarch updated BO4 to correspond with the slides in the same Mystery Crates. This became a scavenger hunt to find the clue. It led to “PAWNtakesPAWN.” Then, shortly thereafter, was revealed. This is what you see when you load the website up…

Now, normally, you wouldn’t think of anything regarding this particular site, but this is Treyarch. The thing about Treyarch, is that they are notorious for leaving easter eggs. Likewise, the Treyarch community (Basically the whole “Black Ops” community, really…) are known for decrypting, deciphering, decoding, unearthing secrets. In the Black Ops community, Easter Eggs is a huge thing. Huge. Yuge.

In fact, back in 2010, Treyarch was no stranger to these types of marketing. They carried a briefcase to a location, and people were looking for clues, information, scrambling to find “What the heck is this?” Of course, it was later found out that it was marketing Call of Duty: Black Ops. Its the same here, the difference is… Everything is online. On day one, we had the first Tape, it showed replays of footage from dates ranging from 1979…

This particular tape took you to the Farmland location, and it leads you to a door. Another link was updated on the same site “/emc2” (Image listed below under Misc), it specifically takes you to a image showing dates, and the year of which will be talked about.

In the Second Day “/tangledweb” was revealed (Again, image in misc section), and in this day, for the most part, the tape was the same, except it showed a bunch of new numbers. These numbers led you to a bunker on B5 in the Warzone map.

In Day 3, you had to go to the shack next to the prison. This was where the RC-XD was discovered. (RC-XD from the Black Ops series – this is what I meant by the Black Ops community will find easter eggs.)

In Day 4, new numbers were shown, and it led you to B7 in Warzone. It unlocked another bunker. This time, with an elevator and a red light. Two other rooms were locked, too.

In Day 5, new tape, and new numbers arrive. This time, it takes you to F4 in Warzone. It was a shack near the TV Station, once you’re in, you go into the bunker.

In Day 6 (which is the final day…), new tape, and new numbers arrive. It is now taking you to F8. It’s a new bunker with a nuke in it. In Bunker 11, a nuke was being built. In this particular bunker, it shows the nuke already built. Along with this, another link was revealed, “/11thHour.” This was updated over the course of 2 to 3 hours of Day 6, where everyone was scrambling for clues. It was updated 2 times: “Timing is Everything,” and a paper of times, with the bottom being stripped off. All this culminated – This time, the clues led to an unlisted YouTube video. It’s the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War trailer!

This is “tangledweb” where they talk about Wars. It reads the following: “Wars are won not just on the battlefield, but behind closed doors.

Tactics. Maneuvers. Strategies.

All pieces of a complex puzzle that means the difference between life and death – conquering or being conquered.

Codes. Signals. Ciphers.

Secret communications used by enemies and allies for thousands of years.

The plot unfolding now is decades in the making. It will not be unraveled overnight.

While some battles can be won swiftly, others will take days to unfold.

You have found the first piece of many.

Relish the journey. It’s all part of the game.

The spoils of victory come not to those in haste, but to those who knew –

“Every battle is won before it is ever fought.”

Know your history.”

The next one “11thhour” is related to the other ciphers from the entire scavenger hunt. It was updated later.

Here’s the update…

And finally… This is “EMC2.”

Each image had their own art, but I’ll just use this because its where everything ends. Each day was Blacked out, until the day it arrives. Once the day is over, it’s crossed off with a red marker.

In Conclusion:

Activision, Infinity Ward, and Treyarch collectively had players on a scavenger hunt for the first leaks of Call of Duty 2020. It started with a box sent to youtubers, streamers, and other content creators to unravel what’s in the box, and beyond. Players were hunting for clues for 6 days. A YouTube video was unlisted, but players found it… It’s a teaser for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. World Reveal is set for August 26, 2020…

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War does not have a release date set in stone yet, nor do we know the platforms it’s going to be released on… However, we do know that Treyarch, and Raven Software are working on the game.
