At E3 2019, the official Blair Witch game was revealed during the Xbox Briefing. It was a short reveal trailer, but Microsoft allowed it to be shown off during the briefing, because it’s exclusive to Xbox One (at press time, there has been no other consoles announced for Blair Witch, just Xbox One and PC). LionsGate is officially licensing the brand to Bloober Team to make a game based on the films, which is an indie developer based out of Kraków, Poland.
The new Blair Witch game seems to be in the First Person Shooter genre, but you’re practically looking for ghosts or other paranormal anomalies (think Ghost Adventures, but with a Annabelle twist on the franchise), as you face your fears and face this Blair Witch force. You play as a former police officer who’s looking for clues and hints towards finding a young boy that recently disappeared in the Black Hills Forest.
The new Blair Witch game will release for Xbox One, and PC via Steam on August 30, 2019.
