I'm building a media website especially for the PS Vita, and I need someone to help me do some tests while mine is with the Sony repair department. I'm starting to add jQuery (it makes websites look cool and work better) and I need to know how much I can do with the browser before it begins to lag. I tried it on my iPhone, but its nothing of the same.

WOW WHAT A LAME FIRST POST THIS IS

But the point still remains. If you can help me out with some simple loading tests etc., I would be very grateful.

My Vita is with Sony Australia. My screen blacked out completely about two weeks after I got it. I sent it in for repairs, but they've had it for ages; I'm contemplating just buying a new vita.

I vividly remember one time I had some problems with my PS3 and it took Sony three months to get it back to me. My only problem is that I'm worried I'll buy a new one and then the next day my old Vita will turn up.

And thanks for the welcome! :)

I need some people to test these pages and respond to some questions.

HTML5 Sound - visit http://bit.ly/qTa8E3 on your PSV
  • 1. Does the sound work?
HTML5 Animation & Game - visit http://bit.ly/qCLL4L (Karoshi) or http://bit.ly/cJq4k1 (8 Ball)
  • 1. Rate the load time (out of 5, 5 being excellent)
  • 2. Rate the gameplay/animation lag (out of 5, 5 being no lag)
  • 3. Do the sound effects work?
  • 4. Write the link you used - the name in the brackets
Thankyou in advance to everyone that participates.
Also, as for the actual website, I'll be launching it via private beta in the next few weeks, provided everything goes to plan.

Hmm. Many thanks to everyone for your feedback so far, looks like I'm going to have a lot of problems.

Just one last site, could you visit http://bit.ly/9PM0g4 and do the second set of questions above? There are no sound effects in this, so ignore that question.

I do hope the Vita does not turn out like the PSP. Capable of amazing things, but Sony blockading progress. I don't know what advantage they get out of this. The few customers they gain for their video store, they lose a tonne from lacking proper Youtube support, among other things. I assume that's why they are doing this. My iPhone 4 managed to load everything except the sound, and played them, which means that the PS Vita browser is not even close to iOS Safari.

It's disappointing that a single-core smartphone can out-perform a quad-core gaming device.
That's a joint effort from Sony's software and legal departments for you.
