Where do you see yourself 10, 20, 30 years from now are you still going to be a gamer?

I'm sure I'll still be gaming at 55, yes. Maybe not the same kinds of games I play now, but I'm sure I'll still be playing something. If we project based on age instead of years, and you ask "will you be gaming at 70" then the answer is I hope so. I think I'll be playing more RPGs at that point...

Just wondering if any of you are going to spend the $9.99 for the Super Duper graphics when they are released?

On steam you can buy like four games for that price. Just because other games do it doesn't mean it's a good thing to do! Also skin changes are very different to graphics changes. Minecraft already has skins, though you don't have to pay for them. If you're updating your graphics to meet the...

    If you could improve Minecraft....

You can absolutely fall haha. It's not a black abyss though, you're in space :) You still get the day-night cycle so the sun and moon move, you still get weather, and rainbows, it's actually quite pretty. I wouldn't worry about experience in regular minecraft as the mechanics are pretty...

What's your favorite sound in Minecraft?

As much as it tends to get on my nerves after a little while, I quite like the rain sounds. I'm one of those people who will play on a rainy day for a while then look up and be surprised that it's sunny outside in real life :giggle: It's also cool the way it muffles other sounds in a sense, so...

Just wondering if any of you are going to spend the $9.99 for the Super Duper graphics when they are released?

Nah. I play on low graphics settings anyway as it is. I play on a laptop that CAN run fancy graphics, but runs more smoothly if I don't - for a long time it was a laptop that couldn't keep up, so I got used to it without. Minecraft isn't about graphics to me, it seems really weird to look at it...

Do you see any negative aspect in Minecraft?

For me it can kind of be summed up with "it's too easy to lose all your work." We've talked in another thread about losing server info and things like that, plus you guys have already talked here about other people being jerks and deliberately ruining things. But it's also the simple stuff like...

Have you ever built under the water?

For the record, you could also consider building a city then flooding it :giggle: Would have to find a sunken in area where it's possible, or build walls or something to hold the water. And it might not be as satisfying. But if all you want is a gorgeous city that happens to be underwater... ;)

    If you could improve Minecraft....

Oh you will absolutely screw up the first time :giggle: You'll try to move your one dirt block and lose it, so you can't grow another tree. Or you'll break the leaves over thin air and lose all your saplings. Or you'll fall off the world and die and have no way to retrieve your stuff... Once you...

What is the worst death that you ever suffered in Minecraft?

I was being super careful while digging to make sure I wouldn't fall into lava or a populated cavern on my way down. I got to the bottom, explored a massive cavern at the bottom of the world, cleared out a few dungeons, found a ton of diamond and gold... ...then proceeded to dig straight UP to...

Have you ever built under the water?

Underwater builds were my favourite thing when I started out! The hardest thing is staying alive while doing it haha. If you find a deep enough spot you can build a house and surround it with lapis blocks, then your friends can't see where you are ;) Sometimes it is actually easier to build a...

How did you find out about Minecraft?

The progression of it as you play longer is hilarious too. Night one it's like OH GOD A SKELETON RUN AWAY. Then you get your wooden sword it's "okay I'm gonna go mining, if I find an opening I can take them with my sword." Then you get your stone sword and feel invincible until you get stuck...

    If you could improve Minecraft....

It's actually very cool. You start in a void world with just a tree on a single dirt block and a couple of books (oh and some food) and you're basically trying to build a liveable world. Mobs still spawn at night if you don't light things up, so you have to defend your world you build, and you...

    If you could improve Minecraft....

This is actually what I love so much about the skyfactory mods. You get all this machinery and stuff to play around with, you even have to generate power to run them. Forget burning coal to cook food, now you have to build a nuclear reactor to power your fusion crafter :P It would be cool in...

How did you find out about Minecraft?

Not gonna lie, other than creepers I didn't know that enemy mobs were a thing :giggle: I'd heard all these stories about people getting their houses blown up by creepers, seen all the "That'sssss a nicccce housssse" memes online, but never actually stopped and thought "there might be other stuff...

Have you ever burned down your Minecraft house? Do you play with fire spreads?

I build fireplaces all the time and have never burned a house down via them! As long as you don't put wood/carpet next to it you should be fine. I have, however, burned my house down in the process of building a lava moat. Hadn't yet learned how far the effect could spread  I went away to...

    If you could improve Minecraft....

A simple character creation screen at the start (or even in the menu) instead of having to find/make and upload skins. I literally spent hours editing a skin pixel by pixel to look vaguely like me because I hate playing as generic characters. I know there are some easier ways to do it now, but I...

How did you find out about Minecraft?

Thank you haha. The hole was the product of going "oh wait nighttime is NOW?" and having no materials. So I just dug a hole in the dirt by hand. I spent the day just exploring the island I spawned on :giggle: Hadn't even mined any trees yet so couldn't make a sword or anything. Could just hear...

What is your most hated Minecraft mob ?

Spiders. Had a creepy experience with them on my first ever night in the game (didn't know what they were and they had me trapped in a hole). Left kind of a bitter taste in my mouth after that haha. I know they're not particularly dangerous or anything, and I wouldn't say I'm scared of them or...

How did you find out about Minecraft?

Not gonna lie, I was like... 14ish? and I had a crush on a guy who played it a bunch :giggle: I started chatting with him and asked about it, then decided to go and get the game and learn to play in case he invited me to play with him. Was gonna keep it a secret so he thought I was just really...

What are your thought on the "Better Together Update"?

The server thing is kind of a sign of the times though. With a few exceptions, servers die out because people stop playing. New players come in and pick up whatever is the latest release, which in this case, as you say, is not necessarily going to be Java. I don't think it's so much a push as a...
