If it works on the PSP, it MAY work on this. The games/homebrew aren't native to the Vita. They're PSP homebrew and stuff! :]

Welp, I'm a complete idiot and am having a hard time setting up vHBL with homebrews. I've gotten the thing itself running easily but not much else. I'm trying to run snes9xTYL via JeoWay's compatibility VHBL on wMenu, so I go to the game I have the INSTALL.ZIP and other files in (Harvest Moon: Boy & Girl/ULUS10142) and I get a blip of text for like a half a second and then I just get "An error has occured. (C1-2858-3) if anyone could help out with this that'd be great, as I'd love to play some Link to The Past, Earthbound, and Castlevania on my Vita

Are you using the patched version of sns9xTYL? Try this one instead: MODEDIT: NO LINKING TO EMULATORS AND THE LIKES PLEASE. Worked fine for me. Only issue I've been having with homebrew is getting gpsp to save. However, its supposedly fixable with some sram patching.

If you have VHBL on your vita, there's: gpsp (gba), snes9xtyl (snes), daedlusx64 (n64), picodrive (genesis) and others that I can't remember off the top of my head. However, compatibility varies from exploit to exploit and performance is not always silky smooth.
Check wololo.net daily and always have ~$10 in your psn wallet in order to buy exploited games. Most importantly be patient. If you want a kernel/user mode exploit that badly, find your own.
