Streets of Rage 4 is coming soon

For those of you who are not familiar with Streets of Rage – it’s a classic 90’s beat ’em up franchise by SEGA. It debuted for Sega Genesis in August 1991. If you are curious, there are several ways to play the original Streets of Rage today: There is a version of Streets of Rage on 3DS (released in 2013), a version of Streets of Rage for Sega Genesis Mini, there was a Wii release, but most of it was all online on Virtual Console (which has already been shut down), you can get it on Steam, hunt down a copy of the Sonic’s Ultimate Genesis Collection for PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360, or hunt for a copy of Sega Genesis Classics for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC (it’s on Steam, at the moment).

In August 2018, Dotemu revealed that they’re working with a few developers to release a new entry in the Streets of Rage series called simply “Streets of Rage 4.” They also released a reveal trailer for the game at that point…

Shortly thereafter, they’ve been hyping up “Streets of Rage 4,” including a reveal of an interesting feature in the game. In addition to the main roster of Streets of Rage 4 characters, you can also select the original characters from the Streets of Rage series. They didn’t even change their looks, they made those retro art designs as part of the game…

Finally, they released a new trailer for Streets of Rage, complete with a release date. To learn more about the game, Dotemu posted a blog post on the PlayStation Blog to drum some hype for the game…

Streets of Rage 4 arrives to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch on April 30, 2020.
